Customer Review Summary
Reviewers most often return to the two-course lunch and set meals, describing well priced dishes and a good selection for a basic lunch. One regular favours satay chicken, then tofu in black bean sauce with egg fried rice. Others single out crispy duck, chicken with ginger and spring onions, coconut rice and mixed veg in black bean sauce, which one diner calls very good indeed. Staff are described as friendly and polite, and one takeaway customer chatted with the person serving while waiting, then found the food still hot. The criticisms are specific. One takeaway chowmein came over sauced with only a few fragments of chicken, and that reviewer would warn others to eat inside. Another found the dining room a little cold and the service only reasonable, a third says the place needs a little TLC, and one wished for a kids menu. One regular notes that a free tea, coffee or soft drink comes with the set meal and finishes with banana fritter and mango sorbet alongside jasmine tea.

“Sadly Sidmouth is closed for food in the evenings after twenty past eight! For a resort town this is astounding. Cannot recommend Sidmouth as an evening destination, it was dead at 8.15 in the evening!!”

“Food is very good, We had chicken with ginger and spring onions, crispy duck and pineapple, coconut rice, and mixed veg in black bean sauce. The veg in sauce was very good indeed. Service was reasonable, but it was a little cold in the resteraunt. It's worth a try if you are in the area.”

“Quick service is my positive, chowmein is a basic dish to get right, but this was over sauced and was supposed to be chicken but there was only a few fragments. This was a takeaway and lucky fo them I wasn't in the restaurant as this would have been sent back. We're on holiday here and would warn others to be wary, perhaps eat inside.”

“Just had a takeaway, while waiting we had a drink, the guy was very nice, polite and had a conversation, it was hot when we got back, yes it didn't look appealing but it's about the food, a starter for two, very nice, the three meals we had was very tasty, I can only say we enjoyed and give it a try”
