  “After a cracking night in Hillsborough, we ventured into town. Me and my partner along with our friend headed towards West Street Live. On arrival we saw a customer been kicked out. We waited to go into the bar when the door staff decided the venue was closed. Having asked why, I was ignored by one bouncer and another started been aggressive. I was even pushed by one of them. These door staff are rude, hostile and aggressive. They show no respect and abuse there position. They have no social skills what so ever and to be frank, should not be working the doors. The female bouncer needs to go wobble her sweed. She calls people every name under the sun and agitates people. She also insigates conflict with her aggressive nature. Horrid bar with aggressive behaviour on the doors and won't be going back anytime soon.”

  “This place is the pure pits. Was refused entry because they were dealing with someone else. Questioned why we couldn't go in and was given a mouthful of disrespect even though we were polite. The the woman bouncer piped in and she seriously needs to go to the NHS for a new personality!!! She winds people up and provokes trouble then stands back at let's her minions deal with customers. Vile place I have no intention of ever returning to”

  “The bar staffs are really nice. Bouncers are okay but the people in the clubs are horrible. I got pushed by a group of girls and they were fighting for a place to dance in front of the fan. My friends and I were there first and we were having a good time singing and dancing until they pushed us and acted like nothing happened and also pushed us while they were dancing.”

  “Probably Racially motivated. Sat 9th May 3:30am. White male, bald bouncer kicked me out for “putting a drink on my head”. I asked whats wrong with that to which he just swiped the drink out of my hand. I told him to move along, where afterwards started to push me with his body for about 10 seconds whilst i continued dancing with my friends facing away from him. He then grabbed me forcefully and threw me out of the establishment. My friends asked what i did wrong and he replied “ He was smoking crack”. Absolutely nuts. Genuinely what the hell. There is not shred of evidence of that. He just made that up on the spot!!! They then proceeded to kick them out too. WSL…. make this right by firing this power hungry sadist! Ruined a night of good vibes for no reason! Appalling! I will NOT be going here again! Please avoid this place! Its got a history of this kind of thing!”

  “Bouncers are on a real power trip. Friend walked outside with a drink and immediately he spoke down to her rather than asking nicely. He said he’ll take it off her so she held it out to him and he snatched it and poured it on the floor. He then forcefully snatched my glass out of my hand (I hadn’t said anything at all and was standing quietly). Saw him being confrontational with others too. There was also broken glass on the floor and it was so busy you couldn’t move. Definitely a health hazard - if someone fell they could have been really hurt.”

  “Had an amazing time at West Street Live. The atmosphere was brilliant, the music was great, and the staff were friendly and professional. Entry was smooth, security handled everything properly, and the overall vibe was very welcoming. The place was lively, well managed, and perfect for a night out with friends. Drinks were reasonably priced, and the crowd was good. Easily one of the best pubs on West Street. Highly recommended. Will definitely be coming back.”

  “Would give one star if I could, female bouncer on the door highly aggressive to me and my friend. Terrible place judging by the bouncers. We had plenty money and perfectly willing to buy drinks but denied access and we know the owner personally. We have reported to the trade ombudsman and have plenty legal backing and power behind us as so hopefully some good comes from this.”

  “We were treated incredibly unfairly. Despite waiting patiently in line, following every rule, and doing nothing wrong, the staff abruptly accused us of having a “bad attitude” and told us to leave without any explanation. Their manner of speaking and their refusal to clarify their decision came across as discriminatory. It’s hard not to feel that we were singled out because we are Asian. This conduct is unacceptable, unprofessional, and profoundly disrespectful.”

  “Since they have now ignored my email and blocked me from both Facebook and Instagram after I commented on posts I thought I would post a little review of my experience at West Street Live on the morning of Sunday 24th August. At approximately 1.15am I was queuing to enter West Street Live with a group of friends when, at around 1.30am we reached the venue entrance where we showed our IDs to one of the door supervisors and my ID was accepted by him before I attempted to enter the venue. At this point another bouncer, wearing a white shirt and red tie (1st pic) approached me angrily to say I had been ‘rude’ because I had ignored something he had apparently said to me as I entered, I did not hear him and this was also in a busy and noisy environment. I explained that I hadn’t heard him say anything to me and continued walking into the building before he used his arm to forcefully block and move me away from the entrance as he told me I would not be allowed into the venue. The reasons for this didn’t seem clear. I once again explained that I hadn’t heard him speak to me and in a reasonable manner asked what the problem was and why I was refused entry. He and his other colleagues then ignored my questions before he then asked me why I was still there, but then continued to refuse to engage with me. When I continued to ask to understand the issue he then told me to go away and pushed me away forcefully at which point I asked to see their SIA licenses, to which they refused and after this I was pushed again by his bigger colleague (2nd pic). This was with greater force to the point where I nearly fell to the ground into busy oncoming traffic, fortunately I was able to regain my balance. As I hadn’t acted aggressively towards them at any point during the altercation, this was an entirely unprovoked assault. I had acted reasonably in trying to gain understanding as to why he decided to deny my entry to the venue and none of the bouncers had any need to defend themselves or others by pushing me. I have reported the incident to the police who are making enquiries at time of writing and my next report will be to the press unless management at WSL decide to respond to me. Absolutely disgusting that the management ignore and block my communications let alone not apologise for the way I was treated. Well done West Street Live, you have lost my custom. Not really an enterprising way to treat the people who keep the venue in business is it?”

  “Nice venue for live music, unfortunately there wasn't any on while we were there. The shots menu is extensive and I was surprised to see the shots were mixed in the glasses individually, the ones we tried were lovely, I'd definitely go back again.”
