About Dave's Hot Chicken
Dave's Hot Chicken is a chicken restaurant at 10 Cambridge St in Sheffield, built around hot chicken served as tenders or sliders. The concept began in 2017 as a parking-lot pop-up in East Hollywood, started by four childhood friends, and that Los Angeles start gives the Sheffield menu its roots. Spice levels include medium and extra hot, with a "reaper" option at the top of the range. Mac and cheese is on the menu alongside the chicken. Guests order at the counter, and the kitchen can have a wait at busy times.

Customer Review Summary
Reviewers most often return to the spicy chicken tenders and sliders, praising the heat as genuine and the flavour as tasty, with one noting that medium was just right and the smallest amount of extra hot was enough. A group also tried the reaper level. The fries and the mac and cheese get close mentions, though opinions split: one reviewer calls the mac and cheese to die for, while another didn't find it good value and wasn't keen on the kaleslaw. Staff are repeatedly described as friendly and welcoming, with one at the desk praised for taking orders and another for being chatty, and a few call the place clean and tidy with vibrant decor. The main complaint is the wait. One diner on a Wednesday evening waited 58 minutes for food, though they said it was great once it arrived and that staff were trying their best. Another reviewer who avoids gluten said the pain was worth it for a simple menu done well, and several say they plan to return.

“By far the tastiest fast food chicken I've had. The fries too were very tasty. Not so keen on the kaleslaw and didn't think the mac n cheese was value for money either. Chose the medium flavour for both my tender and slider and was just about right. Tried the smallest amount of extra hot and that was enough. Nice vibrant decor both inside and out. Was fairly quiet when we arrived and we're easily seated. Can imagine it being a very popular place and being very busy.”

“TO LIVE AND FRY IN L.A. In 2017, four childhood friends came up with a simple concept — take Nashville Hot Chicken and make it better than anyone else in America. With only a couple thousand dollars to their name, they boot-strapped a pop-up concept in a parking lot in East Hollywood serving a simple menu of tenders, sliders, fries, and kale slaw — they created a viral cult following with lines consistently over an hour long.”
