Customer Review Summary
Loaded fries come up most, and the happiest reviewers name them: chicken and bacon fries with a black and blue burger, barbecued chicken fries beside a triple cheeseburger, and pizza fries. These diners describe quick, painless service and pickup ready right on time. Close behind, the burgers draw praise even in critical reviews, though one reviewer found the bread soggy and messy. The steak is the most repeated complaint. Fillet on loaded fries and chips arrived well done, tough and chewy instead of pink, and the steak in the mighty meat box was chewy and fatty, with tasteless mac and cheese. Several also report food arriving lukewarm or cold, including stone cold cheesy chips, soggy fries, and a munchy box with only two wings and little cheese on the fries. One reviewer describes a delivery running far past its quoted time, and a few call the prices too high for what arrived. One first-time pickup customer, delayed by a late order, was given complimentary cakes and cream and extra sauce.

“Orderd from here two times before food is good but service is incredibly slow, for example orderd on just eat 40-50 min delivery time which was very long. That time came and went with another hour quoted for delivery. Previous orders food would be better if it wasn't almost cold. And to top it all the applied service charges of 5% plus money and more for a bag, which was silly we aren't Americans and the service isn't fast enough to justify it. Nice food extremely poor delivery service if you want it do pick up rather than order as you'll just get warm slop”

“The Smoking Goat has now become my go-to takeaway as I am still blown away by how good it is every single time. The quality of the food is always amazing and the speed in which they can prepare and deliver your meal (even on weekends) is just as outstanding as the quality!! If google reviews would let me leave 6 stars I would.”

“We had the smoking goat yesterday evening an it was ment to be a treat for me and my partner. The food was not very warm when it arrived. My mac and cheese landed fries where bland and soggy. The burger it self was great but the bread was agian really soggy and very messy to eat. We wont be returning.”

“Black and blue for the win! Tried the chicken and bacon fries with it and was amazing! Service was quick and painless, only thing I would say is they have wooden forks i think its more a me problem there though ha! Amazing food cant wait to try again (with a metal fork haha)”

“We ordered the mighty meat box after having it twice before and enjoying it but this time round is was really bland. The Mac cheese was tasteless, chips are just plain oven chips, steak was chewy and fatty so the only part that was kind of enjoyable was the burger. For £35 we had higher expectations than what we received and feel it’s way overpriced for bland & chewy food. Upon ordering we wasn’t asked how we liked the steak nor which sauce we wanted so guessing they just took a wild guess. Has put us off ordering from Smoking Goat in future at those prices for poor food and definitely wouldn’t order the mighty meat box again. Will try somewhere else time.”
