About Between Buns
Between Buns is a hamburger restaurant at 11 Kneesworth St in Royston that began as a food truck and now runs as a sit-down restaurant in an old building. The menu centres on smash burgers, drawing on Southern BBQ influences alongside Korean and Japanese fusion, and the burger list includes a French Canadian burger next to a classic version. Sides lean on the same approach, with truffle parmesan fries and a mac and cheese spring roll. The team also caters private events and weddings, including a burger selection.

Customer Review Summary
Burgers are the main draw, with reviewers calling them juicy and full of flavour, and one diner describing the French Canadian as the best they have had. The truffle parmesan fries come up repeatedly, alongside pork belly bites and a mac and cheese spring roll. Close behind is the Sunday lunch, where the beef brisket and confit pork belly roasts get praise for generous portions and well-cooked vegetables. Several mention friendly staff and a relaxed, fun atmosphere in an old building. The owner also earns thanks for catering a wedding and a garden party, where guests complimented the burgers. The main dissent comes from one reviewer who found the burgers like a posh McDonald's, creamy and greasy halfway through, missing the acidity of pickles, and thought the fries hard and salty. Another called the brisket roast a bit pricey but well worth it. One wedding guest even took four leftover burgers home for the week.

“Taste like posh mcdonald...i personally prefer the classic burger have less crramy sauces and missing the acidity of pickle, gherkins so feeling a bit greasy after half of the burger. Generous portion of fries but i think it is too hard and salty.”
