Quick info
About Dragon House
Dragon House is a Chinese takeaway on Brookend St in Ross-on-Wye, working from a counter where collection orders are handed over. Orders are also taken by phone for delivery, and the team quotes a wait time when you call. The menu runs long, covering spring rolls, salt and pepper chips and duck in plum sauce, and complimentary extras such as spring rolls or prawn crackers are sometimes added to an order. Payment is cash only, so card is not accepted. It takes walk-ins rather than bookings, opening in the evenings from Monday to Sunday and closing on Tuesdays. Delivery carries a minimum order value, with an extra fee for outlying addresses.

Customer Review Summary
The complaints are about delivery and consistency. One reviewer says a driver ignored detailed directions around a road closure, the food arrived stone cold, no fresh food was made, and an extra delivery fee was requested. Another was quoted a minimum order that rose from £30 to £40 on a second call, and cancelled. A third says the duck in plum sauce was mostly skin and fat and that the complaint was brushed off. One reviewer calls it an average takeaway, and another found an order cold, though the staff reheated it and added an extra tub.

“Ordered food thought the lady said an hour 20 mins which was fine. Went back and said everything was cold as left too long as she said only 20 mins. But heated most things back up for us, gave us an extra tub of what I ordered. Said another extra bag of spring rolls on the house but got home and prawn toast I ordered wasn’t there which was fine. The customer service is as amazing and first time ordering from here. The lady behind the counter was just incredible, will be coming here to order again. Amazing service from all, Izzie x”

“Phoned up for delivery. Made them aware of the road closure by my house. The delivery driver apparently was not told about this and called us up. The woman in the car was screaming the whole time while a man was speaking to my partner. We gave them very clear instructions on how to avoid the road closure including pictures of the map of the route to take. They continued to go several different ways, other than the way described. They then went back to the restaurant and sent another driver. I gave this driver the exact same directions and he got here with no difficulty in a very timely manner. By this time, however, the food is now stone cold. Despite the first driver being at fault, no fresh food was made. No offer of discount. Just told to pay extra delivery fee for the extra miles the driver had to take. Very disappointed.”
