About Ramsgate Boating Pool
Ramsgate Boating Pool is a cafe on Royal Esplande in Ramsgate, beside a seaside boating pool with a sea view. Pedalos are available to hire on the pool, so the cafe works as a stop before or after a time on the water. The kitchen makes wood oven pizzas on site and also serves smash burgers. Local lagers and IPAs are on tap for adults. Children have a small playground with a seesaw and a roundabout, and toys are kept inside the cafe. The cafe is open daily.

Customer Review Summary
Reviewers most often single out the wood oven pizza, made fresh on site and described as delicious, with hot dogs and smash burgers as other options. Close behind is the sea view and relaxed feel of sitting outside with a beer, and local lagers and IPAs on tap get a mention. Families describe a playground, a seesaw and roundabout area, and toys inside, along with pedalos on the pool. One reviewer calls breakfast a regular family go-to, and several praise friendly, polite staff. The complaints are specific. One reviewer says the paddle boats were awful, with water coming in until they nearly sank one, though the lad working was apologetic. Another finds the place dated and wants better umbrellas for shade and a better kids area, calling the drinks very pricey. A third says social media messages go slow or unanswered. One visitor found the boating pool itself closed, and the pizza was the draw that afternoon.

“Could do with some good umbrellas ,for sun shade a must in the weather we have had ! Very dated good do we paint everywhere , make the kids area better then I could justify the price of the drinks very pricey”

“Have been coming to the Ramsgate boating pool since I was a kid (30+ yrs 🙄) and it's had different owners, running the cafe and lake over the years but always remains a personal favourite place to go with the kids for a sunny day at the weekend or in the school holidays, there is a playground, great food and pizzas made from fresh on site 😀 and then why you relax in the sun let the kids hire a boat and wear themselves out paddling around the lake for an hour 😀”

“The food the bar and service was really good really polite. We did the paddle boats too which was actually awful. We nearly sank one as water kept coming in but it was fun. The lad that was working was really polite and apologetic. Defiantly go and enjoy”

“Didn't have the food, it was literally a place to meet a friend, we then walked to the harbour. Have been here before though and nice area to sit in the sun and while away some time. Also free parking along the main road is great”

“Our go to cafe for breakfast when the kids have a day off. Top notch breakfast and great staff. Can’t beat a sea view as well”
