Customer Review Summary
Reviewers most often point to the lobster, with one first-timer calling it delicious and cooked perfectly, another calling it the sweetest they had tried, and a third noting the half lobster was enormous. Close behind are the fish dishes, including seared tuna, pan-seared sea bass, fish and chips, and a crab salad special, alongside calamari, duck, and a gluten free seafood pasta. Diners also mention an After Eight cocktail and the wine. Service draws steady praise for friendly, attentive staff who talked through the menu and specials, and several mention being welcomed with dogs on the terrace. The recurring caveat is cost: a few call it pricey or steep, though they feel the quality justifies it. One reviewer found the tables close together, which made it feel crowded and hard to relax into conversation. One family had a problem with a meal that was put right quickly and with good grace.

“Really lovely meal at this restaurant. Great choice of food and drinks. Nice atmosphere and friendly, efficient service. Prices are quite steep but the quality is good - half lobster was enormous! Nice for a special occasion.”

“Great quality fish meals sat outside in the sun with our dogs 🐾 The crab salad special was delicious and the fish & chips was reported to be excellent by the husband! I’m sure we’ll return one day for the shared seafood platter. Good friendly service for our nice quiet mid week lunch but I imagine it gets very busy mid season. Prices were as expected for a quality fish restaurant.”

“Dined here today for lunch with my husband, our baby and our dog. The restaurant is beautifully decorated and comfortable inside. We were greeted with a warm welcome by a lovely Scouse front of house manager, who was extremely friendly and attentive. We were given a choice of table and shown the menus. There is plenty of choice of both food and drinks. We opted for a 0% Hugo Spritz, Diet Coke and tap water followed by Calamari, Fish and Chips and the Chicken Breast. The food was absolutely spectacular. Well seasoned, beautifully presented and plentiful portions. We also managed to squeeze in some dessert which was equally delicious. Baby changing facilities available and we were kindly shown out of the side entrance to avoid using the stairs. All of the staff we interacted with went above and beyond to ensure we were comfortable and enjoying our meal. Absolutely fantastic experience and can’t wait to return!”

“Lovely atmosphere, fantastic wine and absolutely delicious, fresh seafood. The music complemented the ambience perfectly and made for such an enjoyable experience. Our lovely server, Megan, was professional, warm and welcoming, and really informative when talking us through the menu choices and specials. The venue itself is immaculate, hats off to the whole team! This was our first visit to The Potted Lobster and our first time in Abersoch, and it certainly won’t be our last. We will definitely be back! 🤍💙”
