About Seniors Poulton-le-Fylde
Seniors Poulton-le-Fylde is a fish and chips takeaway at 4 Queensway in Poulton Le Fylde, one of 10 stores serving fish and chips since 2000. Behind the takeaway counter, a sit-down dining room has waitress service and is licensed, with beer and wine by the glass or bottle. Fish is made to order, with a choice of cod or haddock, or both. Large fish and chips in the dining room come with unlimited chips, which suits anyone settling in for a full meal. A small meal deal pairs cod and chips with mushy peas, bread and butter, and a pot of tea or black coffee. The shop is open Monday to Saturday and closed on Sundays.

Customer Review Summary
Most reviewers come for the fish and chips, with large haddock and cod singled out, and several praise the lightly battered, crispy fish made to order and the generous portions. Diners also mention the small meal with mushy peas, a slice of bread and butter and a pot of tea or black coffee as good value, and a group of four was pleased to get two good size pieces of fish each with unlimited chips in the sit-down room. Service is called friendly and welcoming by several, and one notes free parking outside. The complaints are sharp, though. One longtime customer describes greasy chips, more inedible than edible, tiny portions, and a refusal to let unlimited chips be shared with children under 5. Another reports fish the size of a couple of fish fingers, pale chips without salt, and being told fish is sold by weight rather than size. A third found the chips thin and the meal ok but not memorable. One reviewer says the food was inedible. The most detailed praise closes on fish served piping hot and a mini meal deal with cod.

“Absolutely amazing fish and chips place. Fish was perfectly cooked, lovely crispy batter and 10/10 chips. Very good portion size and good price. Would defo recommend to anyone coming into Poulton. One of the best fish and chips I’ve ever had”

“We used to love Seniors, wouldn't eat any other chips. They took a hit with price increases and portion size decrease, off the back of COVID but this last year it's just gone worse and worse. This was my chip barn today from Poulton. Chips were greasy and there were more inedible than edible. Portion sizes are rubbish but can't say I'm bothered, who would want more of these chips? Also my wife took the kids to eat in last week and said it was awful, portion sizes were tiny, service was miserable - told her she can have more of the 'unlimited' chips but not allowed to share them with the kids - who are under 5 and she bought chips for anyway. Then all smiles and banter with their regular oldies. The standard used to be excellent across all takeaways but you guys have gone greedy opening more and more places, employing mostly kids, sadly what was once the best chippy on the Fylde is just another of the ten a penny takeaways that might as well be on the prom .”

“Regularly visit with my young daughter and the staff are always very welcoming and accommodating. Probably the best fish and chips I've eaten, and the prices aren't unreasonable. Very generous portion sizes so I'd recommend just getting the regular fish! Always look forward to coming.”

“Very nice cod, chips and mushy peas small meal, complete with a slice of bread and butter and black coffee. Really good value at £10 for the lot. Proper chips! Ate in the room behind the chippy, which is surprisingly spacious, and well ventilated. Excellent, friendly service. I will certainly return here when the opportunity arises.”
