Customer Review Summary

Wood-fired pizza is the most frequent draw, described as soft, slightly smoky and made with fresh ingredients, with one reviewer returning twice and another calling the pizza exceptional. Close behind are the steaks from the charcoal oven, the lasagna, the honeycomb sundae and a spicy risotto, while one diner praises the carbonara. Staff are repeatedly called friendly and attentive, even when busy, and reviewers also like the coastal views, including at night. Several say it is popular and busy enough that booking ahead is a good idea, and one finds the lunch menu reasonably priced. The criticism comes from a few diners who felt the food fell short of the reputation. One found the arancini tasteless and edible only because of the dips, the salt and chilli prawns a small, overcooked portion, and the chilli carbonara marred by excess leftover oil. Another found the room extremely noisy and struggled to hear friends across the table. That reviewer also noted the pepperoni on the kids' pizza had a spicy aftertaste, so their child wouldn't eat it.

“Such a love place. Easy to park. Our server was very knowledgeable about the menu. The food was delicious”

“Nice views on a sunny day, but the food didn’t live up to the setting. The arancini was completely tasteless, only made edible by the dips, which to be fair, paired nicely with the pizza and chips. The salt and chilli prawns were a small, overcooked portion, and not worth ordering. The pizza was good, not great, but good. The chilli carbonara, however, was a let down, for one due to the excessive leftover oil that made the dish visually unappealing.”

“Genuinely delightful and flavourful experience at Amici, wonderful all round, from first flavours of olives, to spicy risotto and Carbonara. Lovely.”

“Amici is a lovely spot that feels like a little slice of Italy on the North Coast. The location near the coast adds something really special to the experience. The wood-fired pizzas are the highlight, soft, slightly smoky, and made with fresh, high-quality ingredients. I visited twice and never disappointed. The atmosphere is relaxed but lively, and the staff are friendly and attentive even when it’s busy. It can get quite crowded, so booking ahead is a good idea, but overall it’s a great place for a tasty and enjoyable meal.”

“Amici is always buzzing and clearly very popular, so I’d definitely recommend booking ahead. It’s highly regarded locally, so I arrived with big expectations — which weren’t quite met on this visit. The atmosphere is lively and family‑friendly, but it was extremely busy and unfortunately very noisy. I struggled to hear my friends sitting right in front of me, which took away from the experience a bit. The staff were great and the prices are good value for money. The food itself was fine but didn’t really overwhelm or stand out, especially given the reputation. I’ll go back and try another dish as I know how many people love it, so I’m happy to give it another chance. A note for parents with fussy eaters: the pepperoni on the kids’ pizza has a spicy aftertaste, which meant my child wouldn’t eat it, and the chips weren’t a hit either. Overall, a decent spot with lovely staff and a good atmosphere, but hoping for a better food experience next time.”
