  “We attended this Italian restaurant last night. Regrettably, we were seated by the kitchen/bar entrance. I'll explain why! To our eyes, there were four members of staff... Three waiting staff, dressed smartly in all black, very professional, polite, all of whom seemed to know what was going on... And then one maniacal older man, who looked like he was half way through fixing a car, frantically running around, getting in the way, confusing things and most importantly, arguing with the other staff right next to our table. Is this guy the 'Franco'? Unclear... Anyway, Yes, the wrong table number was called and we got the wrong food, but that was dealt with professionally by one of the waiting staff, the real issue was the rising sense of fury and confusion emanating directly from 'Franco' himself. Lasagne was great Calzone was av. Waiting staff were excellent considering the hostile environment. Car mechanic... Get back to the garage.”

  “My husband and I were in Peebles to replace the soft top for our car. Whilst waiting for our car to be ready, we came to Franco's for lunch. The decor was cosy, authentic and reminded us of our holidays in Italy. Our food was delicious, staff was polite and friendly. The table next to us were having a huge cake for their child's First Communion, and as the owner Franco was cutting the cake for the family, he asked the family if it was ok to give us each a portion of cake too. We were delighted with our bonus dessert. Francisco explained that the cake was made by his wife, who is the chef of the restaurant. The owners Franco and Marisa were very friendly to us and when my husband saw a bottle of Lemoncello, Francisco very kindly offered us a sample of Lemoncello. We had such a lovely lunch experience, thank you Francisco and wife for your warm hospitality, it made our day in Peebles even more special.”
