  “I have eaten at Siam Garden around four times before, and I’ve always enjoyed the food. However, my most recent visit was very disappointing because of the customer service. When we arrived, I politely asked if we could choose our own table since I couldn’t see any reserved signs. The receptionist replied sarcastically, saying, “Of course not, you are six.” I was fully aware that we needed a table for six—I wasn’t asking to sit at a four-seater. His response came across as rude and unnecessary. Later, after placing our order, I realised I wanted to double-check what we had ordered, add another dish, and change one of my choices. I went back to the reception and politely asked if I could review our order. The same receptionist responded in an unfriendly tone, saying, “You ordered already!” Again, his attitude was dismissive and unprofessional. Although he agreed to change my order from pork and chicken to beef and prawns, when the food arrived, my order had not been changed and was still served with pork and chicken. I chose not to complain because I didn’t want to have another unpleasant interaction with the receptionist and didn’t want it to ruin the rest of my evening. I was very disappointed by the way we were treated. Good customer service is just as important as good food, and unfortunately, the receptionist’s attitude spoiled what should have been an enjoyable evening. I have visited Siam Garden several times in the past and have even recommended it to friends, which is why this experience was especially disappointing. I hope the management takes this feedback seriously, improves its customer service, and ensures that order changes requested by customers are communicated accurately so that other customers don’t have the same experience”

  “So I love Thai food and have eaten at various places around Devon / Torbay. The food quality at Siam Gardens was good - even though some of the portion sizes were slightly on the small size (I ordered the pork belly stir fry) but acceptable. The service was quick but not overly friendly and never checked on us during the meal - which should be standard practice I'm sure most would agree. The biggest issue was the silence. Absolutely no background music - and when I visited, it was not busy. Sounds petty but made the experience uncomfortable. Junjaow in Torquay and The Local Thai in Paignton have both provided a better service and atmosphere.”

  “My favourite food is Thai. This restaurant was very disappointing. I was with family and we all fancied the pad Thai for a change. Just looking at the dish with hardly any vegetables or meat wasn’t very appealing. The taste was incredibly sweet and not authentic. We asked the waitress to come over and told her we were not happy with our food. Our plates were quite full. So a big clue really. She was very defensive and said that they were in business for ten years! And that’s what they served! She left us and we couldn’t believe her attitude. We asked for the bill a few minutes later and questioned her again about the food and what can be done about the payment. We asked for the manager. They didn’t make appearance! We were offered 50% off the food with a terrible attitude. If you want authentic Thai cuisine don’t come here!”

  “Recently visited here with family, we were in the area and had read good reviews. Sadly, the food was not edible, overly sweet and had a sloppy, soggy texture rather than what I expected and have eaten before. I did mention it to the waitress, but she was very rude and dismissive. Told me to order something else in future and not to return to the restaurant. Restaurant has very little atmosphere. Wouldn’t recommend.”
