About The Crusty Cob Shop
The Crusty Cob Shop is a sandwich shop at 223 Castle Blvd in Nottingham. Its cobs come filled with bacon, sausage, egg, mushroom and hash brown, and large sizes are available. A crusty cheese and onion cob is on offer for a meat-free filling, and bacon rolls come with hash browns. An espresso machine handles the coffee. Seating inside is limited, so the shop suits a quick stop. The business prefers payment in cash.

Customer Review Summary
Reviewers most often come for the oversized bacon roll, with a large bacon roll and two hash browns described as more than double the size of the fast food equivalent, and a large egg, mushroom and hash brown cob called freshly cooked. One traveller makes the trip for the crusty cheese and onion cob, and another praises a burger with an unusually large patty. Coffee from the espresso machine gets a mention, and staff are repeatedly called friendly. Delivery draws mixed reactions: one reviewer calls it quick, while another says a bacon, sausage and cheese cob arrived squashed alongside cans of pop, with stale bacon and undercooked sausages. Another found the ham and cheese sandwiches ordered through delivery thin on filling, with poor rolls and extra charges for salad. A third called the bacon mostly fat and the sausages cheap, though the bread, coffee and cakes were good. Seating is limited and finding non-permit parking after 8am is described as tricky. One reviewer whose delivery was damaged says the owner listened and worked out a solution together.

“Ordered a ham sandwich and a cheese sandwich on Uber Eats. Awful ingredients: a small amount of tasteless cheese, one thin piece of low quality ham plus a bit of salad which you pay extra for. Plus the rolls are bad. Not exactly hard to make a decent sandwich, just make your own is my advice.”

“Fantastic cob shop, probably the best and that's why we travel from hucknall just for there famous crusty cheese and onion cob. Staff are extremely friendly and helpful. Also if going try and use cash as its better for the business”

“Ordered a large egg, mushroom and hash brown cob. Really tasty and freshly cooked. Eggs and hash browns were done fresh. Really friendly person cooking. Great price too. So much better than the well know fast food breakfast place. Definitely worth a visit. Looked like a great lunch time menu too.”

“Bacon was 90 % fat 10% Bacon. Sausages was cheap. Bread was the best part Coffee was good though. And cakes was spot on. £12.50 was my order. Safe to say I will not be returning”

“The uber driver was careless and caused damage to the food so I rang up I felt awful to complain but the owner dani was so nice and understanding and extremely polite came up with a solution together and they were made aware about the drivers foolishness but overall even through the damage you could tell the food itself had been made lovely excited to reorder again next time ! And Thankyou to dani the owner who didn’t take it personal or negative but rather as just genuine help seems like the type of owner you can come to with anything and she will listen and try to resolve !”
