  “There are some reviews that are easy to write. This isn't one of them. I've been coming to Ciscoe's for years. Birthdays, celebrations, anniversaries, dates, family meals, spontaneous evenings out - it became woven into the fabric of so many happy memories. It wasn't just somewhere that served sushi; it was somewhere that genuinely felt special. Walking through the door was like being welcomed by old friends. There was warmth, energy, laughter and a sense that everyone working there actually wanted you to have a wonderful evening. On the surface, very little has changed. The décor is largely the same. The service remains polite and professional. The food is still beautifully presented. And yet... somehow, everything has changed. The sparkle has gone. It's difficult to put into words because nothing obvious is wrong. Instead, it's the atmosphere. What was once vibrant now feels subdued. What once felt full of personality now feels strangely transactional. It no longer feels like a restaurant built around hospitality; it feels like one built around moving customers through the door. The smiles seem rehearsed rather than genuine, and the whole place feels noticeably darker—both literally and figuratively. The food is still good, but good food alone was never what made Ciscoe's exceptional. It was the experience. That indefinable magic that made you leave already looking forward to your next visit. That magic has disappeared. Completely. Perhaps new visitors won't notice because they never experienced what Ciscoe's once was. But for those of us who did, the contrast is heartbreaking. This isn't simply a restaurant that's slipped a little; it feels like an entirely different place. I genuinely hope it finds its way back one day, because it deserves to. Or rather, it deserves to become worthy once again of the reputation it spent years earning. For me, though, that chapter has closed. I'd rather remember Ciscoe's as the place where so many wonderful memories were made than continue visiting this new incarnation, which feels so far removed from everything that made it one of my favourite restaurants. It gives me no pleasure to say that I won't be returning.”

  “Came to celebrate finishing our final university unit and had such an amazing experience at Ciscos. We got the sharing board platter which was £40 per person and it was absolutely worth it! Great fish options, loads of lovely veggie choices too, and everything tasted incredible. The service was amazing from start to finish and the atmosphere made it feel really special. Then later that night we randomly ended up meeting the owner in a bar and he was so lovely as well, which honestly just topped the whole experience off. Great food, great service, great people… would definitely recommend!”

  “As a sushi novice, I was unsure if I’d find much I liked on the menu but it was my son’s birthday choice. I was stunned by how delicious and varied the sushi was and the non-sushi large plate options were delicious. I’d assumed all sushi was like the stuff you get in the supermarket meal deal, how wrong i was! Staff were attentive without being over bearing, the decor was beautiful and we haven’t stopped talking about the food since we left! We will definitely be back.”

  “We ate at Ciscoe's last night for my daughter's birthday. Four of us shared a platter, and the fifth had some vegetarian options. All the food was presented really well and tasted absolutely delicious. The advice on how much food to order was spot on, we didn't feel rushed, and the whole meal was very relaxed and extremely enjoyable. Thank you.”

  “went to ciscos on a quiet sunday as a two. super friendly vibes from the start from the owner who served us that night. he was attentive and helpful about the food and wine. even though it was a quiet night, it still felt really nice and atmospheric! great vibes from the chefs too. their teppanyaki grill wasnt working that night so there were some dishes we couldn’t have but that was fine. overall had a lovely evening! they mentioned the teppanyaki being broken is of course not ideal for them and their customers, which i understand, but it’s still a lovely little restaurant, if you fancy a nice meal out then i think it’s worth supporting this little business :) <3”

  “Such a beautiful experience and lovely food. All hand crafted and made with care. Our sushi was Delicious and our staff was wonderul. Amir went above and beyond to make my birthday a special one creating a platter from our selected dishes and having a bit of flare for presentation with dry ice! Very fun and you dont get service like this often. I thought the food was reasonably priced although I would prefer 8 to 6 pieces per roll but honestly it was so filling I wouldnt have been able to eat it all if that was the case. Great for a special occasion.”

  “Today is my mum 60th birthday so we came here to celebrate. Food was fantastic, Amir (sorry if I got his name wrong!) was super nice, patient and friendly! After he found out it’s my mums birthday, he gifted her a bottle of the sake we ordered! What a lovely man. I’ve been here couple times with my boyfriend before today as well and i always had a great time! Prices are very reasonable and also no service charges! I would recommend 100%.”

  “Incredible! What a find! We enjoyed this culinary delight with wonderful friends. I can't fault the experience. This is very likely the most amazing dining experience that I will ever enjoy. Words fail me. We each enjoyed individual starters: lamb chops, gyosa & then shared an awesome platter!”
