  “Delicious food, hot fresh and huge portions. We get varied dishes, both beef and chicken chow meins plus satay chicken, chicken curry. Tried the home made crispy onions rings this time, wow big and very crispy. Still got lots left for second meal tomorrow 😋”

  “Spent £70 pound here it came stone cold and dry. Ending up chucking it in the bin, rang up for a refund, even half would of been ok but the lady was extreamly rude and said she wasnt going to give us anything. After 10 mins auguing on the phone she told me I had to ring the 3rd party I ordered through for a refund, that lady was then on the phone with the restaurant which then the lady from the Chinese proceeded to then augue with the 3rd party and still refusing a refund all smug. Terrible service and very rude behaviour. Avoid.”

  “If I could rate 0 stars I would! We have always used this chinese as a family up until recently. We had place an order for delivery that totalled to over £70. The food order was a mixture of what we usually got and some new things. The food arrived completely inedible. The meat was completely dry and felt like chewing cotton! The food was also cold and felt refrigerated.we rang the restaurant to explain the situation and was met with complete hostility. The lady that answered the phone was very unprofessional and honestly unkind. She did not want to do anything to help the issue or even compensate a little for the loss of food, which had ended up in the bin! Stay clear espically if you actually want to eat 😅😅”

  “My wife Emma ordered via Apple pay and would be ready before I arrived (10m). True to their word it was not only ready but put in very nice packaging (Smart). The lady who took the order and served me was very nice and the food did not disappoint across various flavours and dishes, we look forward to enjoying more from this small business. 👏👏 I have awarded 5 stars for the above reasons for my opinion and my wifes and we will update this review with photos of the place and the set dishes.”

  “Spent £133 on order for family night. Accidentally forgot to add a half duck to the order which we placed online. Called up, lady aid it would be £1.40 extra. I thought great business gesture as we have placed a large order. Food arrived, only the pancakes with the meal. So I called and explained. They wanted us to pay £19.20 and £5 extra for the delivery. I said no thank you and that’s not ok or my fault that you misunderstood me re ordering half a duck. Driver turned up, half a duck 35mins later and told me the lady told him I got the order wrong and forgot about the half duck. I said no, she misunderstood me although I repetitively told her what I was ordering. 2 hours later after the meal (which was very poor standard) 3 of us have had to fight for the toilet! Foul customer service, poor food and bad judgment”

  “This place is horrific. I made a mistake by putting the order down as collection instead of delivery. Rang them up and the lady on the phone was shouting at me. I never got order confirmation email and I asked to get my money back as food wasn’t able to be delivered. She said she didn’t care. Such a big let down. Disgusting people working there and no support at all. Zero stars ✨”

  “Ordered spring rolls and seafood fried rice. Spring rolls crispy full of bean sprouts chicken and char sui. Seafood rice. Small juicy scallops. Tender slices of squid and firm fresh king prawns. This was better than most restaurants. Almost thought I was in china town. Highly recommended”

  “We have been customers many years and ordered red house every Friday for last 3 years! 4-5months ago food became terrible and after telling staff many time we had to go elsewhere! We tried couple other Chineses in Newark but was not the same as they used to be. Tonight 19/9/2025 we ended up ordering as new island had 2 hours wait and we was glad, we don’t know if red house has hired there old chefs back but the food couldn’t be any better. Absolutely top notch how it used to be! We will definitely be returning please just keep up serving the lovely food like you have tonight. Many thanks to the chef”

  “What a disappointment.. They are boasting 4.6 stars review on their website, not sure where are they from and there is no way to actually leave a review there anyway. Noodles taste like instant noodles, too soft and overcooked. Dough around the chicken tastes odd, sweet and sour is just sweet with way too much starch. Everything is too oily as well, price is quite high in comparison to what you get. Well, it was an evening to try something new, tried it, one of the worst Chinese so far.”
