About Mint Masala
Mint Masala is an Indian restaurant at 3 Dwr-Y-Felin Rd in Neath, where the menu is built around curries served with naan breads. Chicken shakuti is one of the curries, and it comes alongside keema naan and garlic cheese naan. Meals arrive with a chutney tray and popadums for the table, and rice is served with the masala dishes. The restaurant also keeps a wine selection, so diners can order a glass or bottle to go with their curries.

Customer Review Summary
Reviewers most often single out the food, with curries and naans named across several reviews: a spicy steak masala with keema naan, chicken tikka with garlic cheese naan, chicken pathia, and a chicken piaza described as divine. Generous portions, with enough left over to take home, and reasonable prices come up close behind. Staff are repeatedly called friendly, welcoming and attentive, and one diner who has travelled to India calls it the closest quality they have found in Wales. A few also mention a good wine selection and a good atmosphere, though one reviewer finds the bright white spotlights harsh in the evening and wants warmer, dimmer lighting. The one clear complaint is about takeaway capacity. A first-time caller on a Saturday evening was quoted a two hour wait for collection and said the kitchen needs more staff or chefs. Other reviewers close on a chutney tray and popadoms alongside three chicken dishes they could not fault.

“Went out for food last night with the family and it was my first time here (the rest had been before) — and wow, I can see why they keep coming back! 😍✨ The food was absolutely spot on 👌🍽️ and the waiters who looked after us were so friendly, attentive and welcoming 🙌💛 Everything was really reasonably priced too 💸 which made it even better, and the atmosphere was just amazing — such a lovely vibe from start to finish 🎶🥂 Portions were so generous we even had loads to take home for the next day! 😋📦🍴 I’d 100% recommend this place to anyone looking for a great meal and a great experience! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Already looking forward to coming back again soon! 😍🍴💫”

“The food is consistently excellent — full of flavour, well presented, and cooked properly. You can tell they care about what comes out of the kitchen. The wine selection is also surprisingly good, with plenty of choice rather than just the standard options you often get. The staff deserve a special mention. They’re genuinely friendly, attentive without being intrusive, and make you feel welcome every time. Service has always been spot on for us. Our only real criticism — and the reason for four stars instead of five — is the lighting. It’s very bright, with strong white spotlights that make the atmosphere feel a bit harsh in the evening. A dimmer switch or slightly warmer lighting would completely transform the ambience and make it feel more relaxed and intimate. That aside, it’s a fantastic place with great food and great people. We’ll definitely be back.”
