Customer Review Summary

Reviewers most often single out the tiramisu, which several call delicious or "to die for", with the bruschetta, calzone, Meat Feast Pizza and Seabass Aqua Pazza praised close behind. Diners describe generous portions, a lively atmosphere and cheerful, welcoming staff, and one celebration included a marshmallow board with a birthday message in chocolate sauce and a sung happy birthday. Cocktails and wine are called lovely, and one reviewer mentions a cake selection that sells out quickly. The complaints are split between food and service. One reviewer found both courses deeply bland and the main oversized, while another waited 30 minutes for a food order to be taken, with a long wait for dishes afterward. One diner said a staff member told them they had ten minutes left at their table after they had already asked for the bill, and a delivery customer was refused the free item from a Buy 1, Get 1 Free promotion after several calls and WhatsApp messages. One reviewer suggests booking for a busy Tuesday evening, and another notes there is no service charge.

“The food is absolutely delicious, and normally the service is great — which is exactly why this experience was so disappointing. I ordered through Deliveroo under a Buy 1, Get 1 Free offer, along with a few extras. I initially selected two items, but when I saw that the total was charging me for both, I logically changed the quantity to one, assuming the second — the free one — would be added automatically. Imagine my surprise when only one item arrived. I called the restaurant and tried to resolve it in a friendly way. At first, I was told they didn’t even have this offer active. I then sent screenshots clearly showing the promotion on Deliveroo. After a phone call and several WhatsApp messages, I was eventually sent a screenshot explaining that I was supposed to select two items and that one of them would then automatically be charged at zero. Well, thank you very much — you have now updated your system! Especially considering that, at the beginning of our conversation, you weren’t even aware the offer existed. In the end, I was simply told there was nothing they could do about it. So, I’m sharing my experience here. The food genuinely is excellent, and I would happily order again, but I really hope the customer service — particularly when dealing with promotions and genuine customer complaints — is brought up to the same standard as the quality of the food. Because the food deserves it. Conveniently, by the end of our conversation, the system suddenly seemed to know exactly how the offer worked so you are all welcome 🤗.”

“On first impressions, Lollo Rosso is quite a decent-sized restaurant spread over two floors. On arrival, we were promptly greeted and shown to our table, where we ordered a round of drinks while browsing the menu. Our waiter, Chris, was attentive, pleasant, chatty and absolutely bursting with positive vibes. Admittedly, he was one of the best waiters there — and OMG, there were some! At one point, I genuinely thought the waiters were going to outnumber the customers! The food, however, was the real star of the show. We ordered a Meat Feast Pizza, Prosciutto E’ Funghi Pizza, Seabass Aqua Pazza and Penne Napoli, and every dish was cooked to absolute perfection. Everything was delicious, beautifully presented and clearly prepared with care. Sadly, three of us didn’t have room for dessert, but one lucky member of the party managed to squeeze in the Homemade Tiramisu. It was quite a size — so much so that even the lucky recipient couldn’t quite finish it! Overall, a very enjoyable meal, excellent food and great service, with Chris certainly deserving a special mention. Lollo Rosso is definitely somewhere we’d be happy to return to.”

“Really enjoyed the food and most of the staff were brilliant. However, a staff member rushed us off our table while husband took our son to the toilet "you have ten minutes left of your table" despite us already have requested a the bill and finished our food. Considering how much money we spent, it felt rushed, disrespectful and left a bad impression. Sadly, we won’t be returning.”

“What an excellent meal. The bruschetta, calzone, and tiramisu all 10/10. The only complaint is that it took 30 minutes for someone to take our food order. The food did also take a long time to come out. The excellent hosts did make up for this, and they don’t add a service charge either. Which is rare. Altogether very good and will be returning.”

“Cannot praise Lollo Rosso enough. The food is absolutely delicious and well presented. Portion sizes are great. The staff are lovely, so cheerful and welcoming. Definitely my go to place for a relaxing evening. Oh and the Tiramasu is to die for. We went on a Tuesday evening it was packed so would recommend booking.”
