About Jasmine Indian Cuisine

Jasmine Indian Cuisine is a modern Indian restaurant on Lloyds Court in Milton Keynes, with seating for 80 diners. The menu draws on Northwest Frontier, Hyderabadi and coastal recipes, and dishes include lamb dum biryani, tandoori prawns and Rajasthani Lal Maas. Tandoori roti is available to go with the curries. A bar run by a dedicated bar manager serves mixology drinks, so the restaurant also works for a drink without a full meal. The dining room uses bench seating alongside regular tables. The restaurant is open daily.

Customer Review Summary

Reviewers most often praise the authentic, distinctly flavoured cooking, with several saying it does not taste like other Indian restaurants. Chicken biryani and tandoori roti come up repeatedly, and one diner calls the tandoori prawns perfectly marinated. Others single out the achari chicken tikka, Rajasthani Lal Maas, tadka dal and butter chicken, and a few mention friendly staff and a lively atmosphere. One reviewer suggests sharing a few dishes because the portions are large.

“We dropped in for a quick curry after the round of golf, venue was not busy when we arrived but got busy by the time we left, one toilet for male and female for the whole restaurant and disgusting toilet too. Food was not great, asked for Lamb Chops not available, sold us kebabs that were dry, asked for crispy well done naan, asked for 4th extra naan that arrived 10-15 mins later by the time we finished food, service from the staff was "not bothered" when I said naan has arrived too late and remove from bill, when the bill arrived 4th naan was charged and thank I asked to remove the service charge too, won't be coming back or recommending.”

“⭐☆☆☆☆ This is the second time I've had an unpleasant experience at Jasmine Indian Cuisine regarding the bill and the behaviour of management. Let me be clear: the food is good, and I have no complaints about the serving staff. My complaint is entirely about the management and their handling of the so-called "mandatory" 10% service charge. The most important issue is that this charge is never clearly communicated before ordering. There was no mention of it when we were seated, no mention when taking our order, and no visible sign or notice brought to our attention explaining that a 10% service charge would be added. It only comes as a surprise when the bill arrives at the end of the meal. About two months ago, we visited as a group of 8 on a weekend and were told that because there were more than 5 people, a 10% service charge was mandatory. After a lengthy discussion, they eventually removed it. Today, we visited again as a group of 5 on a weekday. This time we were told that any group over 3 people must pay a mandatory 10% service charge regardless of the day. When we questioned this, the manager became rude and confrontational. Some of the comments made to us included: • "Why have you come here? Because the food is good, right? So pay it." • "Go and say it anywhere, I don't care." • "Look around, everyone pays the service charge and leaves. Nobody asks about it. Why are you asking?" • "Wait here and I'll bet you nobody else asks to remove it." Eventually, the manager agreed to remove the charge, but only after further arguments. He then stated: • "I don't want other customers' dinners to be ruined, so I'm removing it this time. Next time I won't." We were also told that the owners require staff to add a 10% charge on top of the bill as mandatory. To make matters worse, the manager made dismissive gestures towards us while we were leaving the restaurant. The issue is not the amount of money. The issue is being told that a service charge is mandatory, having it added without clear prior disclosure, and then being treated disrespectfully for questioning it. Good food cannot excuse poor customer service, misleading statements about charges, or rude behaviour from management. This is now the second time we have experienced the same issue, and unfortunately it will be our last visit. Customers should carefully check their bills and ask questions if they are told that a service charge is mandatory. I will also be reporting this matter to Citizens Advice for guidance regarding the way these charges are being presented to customers.”

“Without a doubt, the best food and taste I have experienced in the 21 years I've lived in the UK. Every dish was full of authentic flavour, cooked to perfection, and clearly made with care. The quality of the ingredients, generous portions, and excellent service made the whole experience outstanding. If you're looking for genuinely delicious food, I couldn't recommend this place more highly. I'll definitely be coming back!”

“Had the most amazing Indian food in a long time here at Milton Keynes. Lovely ambience and great staff, they were really welcoming and interactive, helping us decide what we should try and what would best suit our palate. Love the passion for fusion Indian food and drinks here on foreign soil. Thanks to the amazing Bar manager who gave us an insight into the world of mixology 💯”
