Customer Review Summary
The caveats are specific. One reviewer found the chilli con carne under-seasoned with hard beans, the Sunday roast sold out, the sweet potato and aubergine curry bland, and coffee not included with breakfast. The same reviewer was surprised the bar closed at ten with no last orders. Another had a curry arrive stone cold, and the manager replaced it with a hot meal, a refund offer and a complimentary small bottle of fizz.

“A friend & myself were out having a Birthday evening meal. She had fish & chips which were great, but on having my first mouthful of curry, unfortunately, was stone cold. The situation was dealt with quickly with..I think the Manager Aaron & in no time at all, had a lovely hot meal on the table & was offered a refund. He was very apologetic & gave me a complimentary small bottle of fizz for my Birthday. All in all we had a lovely evening in a lovely environment & the cold meal on this instance, didnt dampen our evening.”

“Stayed at the Travelodge Melksham which is situated opposite this pub. The waitress that we had was called Ruby and she was very friendly and helpful. The food that we chose was nice. My wife particularly liked her fish and chips. If we are in the area again in the future we would certainly return to this pub.”

“Perfect service with excellent quality food, everything was soo delicious, thank you very much. We will go again (four of us went there for a dinner and some drinks) We enjoyed it very much. I had the soup for starter (spicy lentils, spinach and coconut sounded interesting) and the taste was just amazing. Fish and chips for main and the raspberry gin cheesecake for pudding. Wow, everything was so delicious. Thank you”

“We had a great time here - thank you Milk Churn team! Booked a large table of 23 people for a meal after my mum’s wedding rehearsal. We were able to preorder from the main menu and the pub was really flexible in the lead up to the day as I had to add a few people arriving at different times. We were booked into the function room which was great. All staff were very friendly, and Aaron in particular was fab with managing the preorder and giving us a warm welcome. Food arrived on time and was enjoyed all round, including the kids. Would very much recommend for larger bookings :)”

“Myself and my family (5) of us travelled down from Lancashire to stay at the travellodge enroute to Longleat. Booked a table at short notice and so glad we did. From the initial booking to the service throughout, all was firstclass. Our server was Ruby who was attentive from the outset. Made sure the kids felt at ease and food was delicious for all. My wife and I opted for the Duck and Steak and Ale pie. Not to be disappointed at all. All throughout Ruby ensured we were looked after and I would recommend this place to anyone. Thanks to Ruby for looking after a tired family after a 5 hour drive.”
