About Giorgios

Giorgios is a family-run Italian restaurant at 19 Marine Gardens in Margate, serving the town since 1990. The menu mixes Italian and Greek dishes, with pizza and pasta alongside seafood and vegetarian options. Starters include bruschetta with burrata, and linguine with prawns sits among the pasta dishes. Seafood runs from fritto misto to a seafood soup with cavatelli pasta. Tiramisu is one of the desserts. The kitchen's Mediterranean side extends to a calzone on the pizza list, and a full bar sits within the restaurant.

Customer Review Summary

Banoffee pie draws the most repeated praise, with one reviewer calling it off the scale good and another saying it did not disappoint, while a third singles out the tiramisu. Beyond dessert, diners name the linguine with prawns that tasted like Italy, a Mediterranean calzone, the arancini of the day, pizza, and bruschetta with burrata. Vegetarian options also get a mention. Staff are described as welcoming, friendly and attentive, service as fast, and the atmosphere as buzzing, including on a busy Saturday when a booking of 20 ran smoothly. Reviewers also mention good portions. The criticisms concern the room itself: the lighting was dark enough that some in one party struggled to read the menu, and another reviewer feels the decor could do with a revamp. One diner took home half of the large seafood soup with cavatelli and said it still tasted delicious the next day.

“I recently had the pleasure of dining at this wonderful Italian restaurant, and I have to say, it was an exceptional experience! From the moment we walked in, we were greeted warmly, and the atmosphere was cozy and inviting. A special shout-out to Andrew for finding us a place happily in this overly occupied restaurant with a smiling and friendly face and also Danny, our server, who went above and beyond to make sure our evening was perfect. Her service was impeccable—attentive, friendly, and professional. The food arrived so quickly, and every dish was absolutely delicious! From the fresh pasta to the perfectly seasoned sauces, each bite was a treat. It's rare to find a restaurant where both the service and the food are this outstanding. I highly recommend this place to anyone looking for a great Italian dining experience. Not to be missed is their AMAZING Tiramisu. Thank you again, Danny, for making our night so memorable!”

“Great discovery of a restaurant! Food is a mix of Italian and Greek. Being an Italian what attracted me to Giorgio’s is the variety of typical Italian dishes, with rare to find seafood options like the seafood soup with cavatelli pasta or the fritto misto. The bruschettas with burrata as a starter tasted amazing. The seafood soup tasted very good and was a very big portion, I took home half of it and even the day after it tasted delicious. To end the lunch, we tried the banoffee pie and it did not disappoint. The atmosphere and the decor of the place could do with a revamp.”
