“Good gluten free options. I don't eat fish and chips often be because gluten free is difficult to find, but it tasted good to me. Staff was very friendly as well.”

“The food I got was nice, but it was a tiny fish. Not what you'd picture when you think of a nice big (full priced) fish and chips. Think I'll go up the road next time to a more rough and ready normal chippie.”

“This is my favourite chippy in the area. Great choices for vegetarians and great value for money. We love the deep fried halloumi and the pea fritters! Everything can be cooked in vegetable oil. The staff are lovely and you can see how hard they all work to create great food. You can also get a cheeky drink whilst you wait”

““Market price cod” scribbled onto the board for £9 on its own - fair enough for quality… But such a shame! The chips and sauces were brilliant, but the price of the fish for the size is a bit silly. Can’t imagine what a small fish and chips looks like. Steak and ale pie, again, very nice pastry and gravy (like a GNP) but such a small about of meat in there.”

“Fantastic fish and chips, just as I remember them! Available gluten free which is wonderful for me as I have a wheat allergy. Fresh and absolutely delicious; we'll be back!”

Customer Review Summary

The recurring complaint is the size of the fish for the price. Reviewers describe tiny haddock portions with more batter than fish, a market price cod that felt small, and a steak and ale pie with very little meat. Queues out of the door and a long wait for orders also feature. One reviewer found the chips and mushy peas only okay, while another had their haddock order remade into nothing, so the fish size remains the sharpest sticking point.
