  “Even if the food is actually good, that doesn’t change the fact that the restaurant is misleading when it comes to its menu. I’ve had the chance to eat an English Breakfast in many places. The dish here called the ‘Full English Breakfast’ is, unfortunately, not actually a ‘Full English Breakfast’. It doesn’t contain mushrooms, which are supposed to be part of it. And I was absolutely shocked when the staff asked me to choose between beans and tomatoes… Hang on a minute – I ordered a FULL English Breakfast, so why on earth are they asking that? For people who’ve never had an English Breakfast before and would like to try it for the first time, well, in my opinion, they’d simply be ripped off. Especially as, despite the food generally tasting good, the prices here are a bit on the high side. But at least don’t mislead people by trying to convince them that this is a Full English Breakfast, because it isn’t. The cleanliness of the toilet could also be better. It’s only because of the taste that I’m giving it 4 stars rather than 3.”

  “AVOID. Travelled to Malton for an evening wedding do and found this tea room for lunch. Waited to be served alongside another couple whilst other tables were being served who came in after us. The young girl serving was out of her depth and had no support as she was running around apologising for the delay in food. Eventually ordered after half an hour wait and several prompts, and waited further half an hour to be served. The other couple had left at this point due to the wait. Food arrived, hot beef sandwich and chicken sandwich, was luke warm, poor quality and the gravy was dreadful. Waitress asked if the food was fine and I advised not, and she started to cry stating how stressed she felt. The Manager was extremely unprofessional, defensive and in need of training in customer service. I advised that due to the service and quality of food, I would not be paying the full price. The Manager then threatened me with the police rather than discuss the situation as adults. Eventually she agreed to accept the mere £5 off that I had suggested. Interestingly at the wedding do, others had had similar experiences in regards to delays.”
