  “Got a take away after a long day driving. Initially though food in brown paper bags was very different from back home in England. Need not have worried as fish and chips were lovely and also plentiful.”

  “Went in for the first time yesterday. Had my 2 nieces and nephew with me as had picked them up from school. We had to go to the shopping centre and when we were getting in the car we spotted the chip shop and they were all starving. I went in and ordered 3 x kids meals at £18 and brought them out. My niece and nephew wanted some ketchup so I said for them to come back in with me and put on what they wanted. My 6 year old niece put her chip box on the table with the sauces, reached over and it fell all over the floor. She was so upset and I apologised to both the lady who made and gave us the food and the lady who took the money. Neither looked very happy and I went over and asked the lady who had prepared the food if she could do me another kids meal with my niece stood beside me upset. She said nothing but started to make the food. I went over to the lady on the til and she charged me £6 for another kids meal and as I was collecting the food the lady who prepared the food said to the other ' have you taken for this meal' and the other said yes then she handed my niece the food box when she knew I'd paid for it. There was one other customer in the shop. I have mentioned this to someone many people since it happened and they are all equally as shocked as I was. Magherafelt has a reputation of being a market town and supports a lot of villages and their residents in the surrounding areas where people feel they are part of a community. When things go wrong people come together and help and where the small acts of support or generosity don't go unnoticed. This goes against all that and I don't normally post online but this 'irked' me and not about the money but about a few chips and taking stock of the situation.”

  “Recently bought a chocolate milkshake for £3.75 and was given a milkshake with spoiled milk, the smell was disgraceful. Talked to staff and asked them to check it, came back and told me they had tasted it and it tasted okay; was given another one that was worse than the first.”

  “The food is good and I really enjoyed it but there is an issue with the milkshakes tasting spoiled and definitely not okay, the taste was sour and I let multiple people try it and they reacted the same and this is not an overreaction and I’m saying this in the nicest way but the milkshakes need to be changed.”

  “Very disappointed with our order this evening. We ordered 2 cheesy chips, neither of which had very much cheese, and any cheese there was wasn’t even over the chips. We ordered a chicken fillet burger, and the chicken fillet was mostly just wafer thin batter except a few parts that actually had a small amount of chicken. (See pictures of chips and chicken fillet). Given the price of our order, we expect a higher standard of food quality. The subpar quality of our meal falls short of our expectations and is unacceptable.”

  “Disappointing and overpriced. Paid £8 for a goujon supper which had three tiny goujons, a handful of chips and a can (Dip not included in that price). Will not be back. Edit: Comment from owner makes no sense. I requested a goujon supper but wasn't informed that it consisted of a meager "special" with three small homemade goujons.”
