  “We stopped by today while visiting the area and the fish and chips were absolutely incredible. We also tried an ice cream bar in the white chocolate batter and it was easily the best thing I've eaten this year. The service was friendly and kind, we'll certainly be back if we ever visit Scotland again ❤️”

  “Having watched all the great TikTok videos featuring The Happy Haddock’s interesting and unusual foods alongside traditional chippy fare, I had been looking forward to visiting for a very long time. On entering the shop, it was easy to see how much love the owner had for the business. The shop was cosy, lightly styled, clean and tidy. The two young members of staff were polite, friendly and ready to help. First off, I ordered haddock and chips, with the fish being a good size and served in a crispy, tasty batter. The chips were plentiful and had just the right firmness and flavour. Then, this is where it got interesting. Irn Bru battered chicken. Tender strips of chicken in a delicious batter made with Irn Bru. Then came the battered macaroni cheese pie, which sounds heavy, but was packed with great taste and texture. And then came dessert, with battered items including Magnums, Toffee Crisp, marshmallow and crisps cooked in-house, which were fantastic. Overall: The Happy Haddock was everything I had hoped it would be. A lovely, well-kept shop with friendly staff, quality traditional fish and chips, and a menu full of fun, unusual and surprisingly delicious creations.   “Visited the Happy Haddock on Sunday 29 March. Ordered scampi supper & haddock supper & onion rings. The food was amazing. Good choice of various batters. Irn Bru caramel etc. The owner and staff were so nice. Homemade crisps were so good. Will definitely be back again.”

  “Amazing place while waiting on our food the owner was very kind and welcoming offered us to try different flavour batters. The food was amazing aswell got fish supper and batter corn, the portions were big aswell got standard supper but was more like a jumbo lots of chips aswell.definitely recommend. Will be coming back.”

  “Really really lovely friendly happy place. Yes it get busy but everyone is always happy and cheerful. The oddities it serves are amazing and unique deffinitly worth a go and hand down the fried magnum with jammy dodger batter was amazing 👏 also the chocolate battered chocolate brownies wow!!!!!! …”

  “Well what can I say about the Happy Haddock except it absolutely amazing!! Davie surprises me every time we are in with something new Irn Bru batter is banging!! You always get a laugh when you visit and the food is 10/10. If you are thinking of visiting then do not hesitate you will love it I promise oh and don’t forget to grab a bag of his homemade crisps 👌🏾”

  “Definitely have to try here! We had a deep fried marsbar and cream egg. They do different types of batters, even irun bru and chocolate! Amazing staff and super friendly. Perfect for a filling supper or a quick sweet treat 😁 Glad we stopped by. We also tried the Mac and cheese pie, haggis and onion rings- the iron bru onion rings are SO fresh! Even got some free donuts 🍩 Great value for money!”

  “Owner was friendly. The fish was excellent, a big fresh piece of haddock with a great batter. The chips however were poor, very dry. Even dipping them in curry sauce/Ketchup wouldn't save them. Lots of other fried items were on the menu which I wish I'd tried like the Mars bar etc. Maybe the chips were just having an off day!”

  “We had a great meal tonight. The haddock was excellent, it was moist and the batter was crispy. The chips were delicious too. Curry sauce had a lovely flavour and spice to it. The Irn Bru Chicken Fillets were a great portion size and tasty. The atmosphere in the takeaway is really friendly.”
