About Ludlow Kitchen

Ludlow Kitchen is a cafe and breakfast restaurant on Bromfield in Ludlow, part of a group of shops that also includes a farm shop, gift shop, and art gallery, next to the Clive Arms. The morning menu runs on a shorter breakfast selection, including a full English and Eggs Benedict, before the full menu of six dishes opens up from midday, with quiche and Caesar salad among the options. Orders are placed by scanning a bar code at the table rather than through table service. Guests staying at the connected Clive Arms hotel get free coffee here. The room opens daily through daytime hours only, and reservations are recommended. Outdoor seating extends the space, high chairs suit families with young children, and dogs are welcome inside. A step-free entrance serves visitors with mobility needs, and food is also available as takeaway for those eating off site. Free Wi-Fi runs throughout for anyone settling in.

Customer Review Summary

Breakfast draws the most consistent praise, with reviewers singling out a full English breakfast called "absolutely delicious," an Eggs Benedict with "great quality ham," and a bacon and egg bap that arrived "hot and tasty" with quick service. Close behind, lunch dishes get repeat mentions too, especially a caesar salad one diner called "probably the best I've ever had," alongside ham egg and chips, a quiche, and a burger with cheesy chips. Coffee is also frequently praised. Several note the ordering system, using a barcode at the table, gets food and drinks out quickly, and one reviewer highlights a particularly welcoming server. Complaints recur around price, with some finding the menu "expensive" and one noting even the orange juice felt costly, and one visitor found the layout organized around staff convenience rather than customers. One reviewer also describes the place as "pretty dirty," citing cobwebs and non-working bulbs. Separately, one reviewer reports being served a cake containing gluten after requesting gluten-free, which they said made their partner ill for days afterward.

Mmmm, has potential, but the whole layout is for the benefit of the staff, not the customer! …

Service always friendly but only one star as served cake with glutan in when specifically asked for glutan free. Partner was very ill afterwards for a couple of days as a result. This is a simple request to get right. Sort it out. We won't be returning as they can not be trusted. Dont recommend if you have food allergies, its not worth the risk.

We went here for breakfast on New Year’s Day. We had a full English breakfast which was absolutely delicious. Really good ingredients. Staff were very welcoming. It is a very popular place and well organised.

This is a tough one for me. Think it would be more of a 3.5. Been here a few times now. The service is fine. People are friendly enough. But sometimes you get good food and other times it …

Great coffee, tasty and well presented food, we had a beefburger and a pear salad food. It is situated in a little group with farm shop, gift shop and art gallery, as well as the Clive Arms - all to same high standard. Prices reasonable on all fronts.

Location

How this listing is sourced

Where the data comes from
Name, address, hours, contact details, amenities, ratings and review counts come from the business's publicly available profile data — not from the owner and not from paid submissions.
How it stays current
Every listing is re-checked on a recurring crawl, and anything reported as wrong is corrected at the source rather than patched on the page.
How it is ranked
Placement is never sold. Every business on the page is ordered and compared using the same public signals, so an owner cannot pay to move up.
