About The Park Room

The Park Room is a tea room in London, at 86-90 Park Ln, that serves themed afternoon teas, including a Flower Fairies tea and a kids' Beatrix Potter tea with chocolate bulldog and doghouse treats. The standard afternoon tea arrives on a tiered plate of finger sandwiches, scones and cakes, with clotted cream and jam for the scones, and champagne is included. The tea list runs to Silver Needle, Milky Oolong and lavender tea. A pianist plays in the room, and a full bar sits alongside the tea service. The team accommodates dietary requests such as halal meals and a citrus allergy. Windows face Hyde Park.

Customer Review Summary

Afternoon tea is what reviewers come for, and most single out the service as its highlight, from a manager and servers who brought extra pillows so children could sit comfortably to staff who handled a halal diet and citrus allergy without fuss. The live pianist is repeatedly mentioned, playing classical and modern pop. Diners name the Flower Fairies tea and a Beatrix Potter themed tea, with each treat tied to her stories, and a children's tea with chocolate bulldog and doghouse decorations. Sandwiches, scones with clotted cream, brown sugar cubes and rhubarb ginger preserves, and the Silver Needle, Milky Oolong and lavender teas draw praise, along with champagne served with the tea. The main caveat is portion size: one parent found both the children's and adult teas too much food to finish, and noted that both leaned heavily on mousse for the sweets. Several describe a quiet room with few other tables occupied. One server offered take-away cakes as guests left.

“Definitely would recommend chosing this place for your teatime! We had such a blast, the food was amazing, the team so warm, knowledgeable of their product and accommodating, we had some food adjustment requests and it was treated as completely normal which was refreshing and very uncomplicated :) A little toddler celebrated her birthday and the team was so caring it made the whole atmosphere so enjoyable for all! And having a kids tea time makes it all the more kid friendly. Big thanks to Herlyn, Valtay and Parkhan.”

“We had a wonderful afternoon tea here and the best thing about it was the service from wonderful, generous, considerate and highly skilled staff, especially Merlyn and Saiful. Superb sandwiches and scones, exquisite cakes and amazing teas. Try ‘Silver Needle’ and ‘Milky Oolong’ teas - sensational flavours. Highly recommended.”
