About Gibney's London
Gibney's London is an Irish pub in London with a wood-clad basement room of booths, reached by stairs down beneath the Daffodil Mulligan restaurant at 74 City Rd. The bar pours Guinness alongside Gibney's own stout and a rotation of Irish craft beers. Downstairs, a bar snacks and sharers menu includes Korean pork bites and cauliflower bhajis, while the restaurant upstairs serves the main food. Rugby, football and GAA matches play on multiple screens, and tables can be booked to watch them. Live music runs from Thursday to Saturday, with acoustic sets and traditional Irish trad nights. The pub is open Tuesday to Saturday and closed on Sundays and Mondays.

Customer Review Summary
Guinness is the draw reviewers raise most, with several calling it the best pint in London and one saying it was the first good pint they had found outside Ireland. Live sport comes close behind. Reviewers mention plenty of screens for the World Cup and a Kerry game, where staff helped sync the different TVs and sort the volume. The wooden-clad basement with its booths is described as cosy, and reviewers also note live music and friendly, welcoming staff. Food gets a lighter mention. One diner called the mash and cabbage the stars of a shared chateaubriand, and another enjoyed the chips. The main caveat is cost, with one reviewer finding the pint price a little high and another calling the chateaubriand nicely cooked but slightly overpriced. One visitor who accidentally left a bag behind found the bar man had put it safely behind the bar as soon as he noticed.

“First good pint of Guinness I've had outside of Ireland. Staff were very friendly. Menu is small but folks there informed me it was class. Definitely worth a stop by.”

“Went last weekend to watch the Kerry game, could not recommend it more. The staff were absolutely outstanding and couldn’t be more helpful in setting up the game, getting the volume right, getting all the different tvs in sync etc. I left my bag behind accidentally and the bar man had brought it straight behind the bar when he realised. Really really received a true display of Irish hospitality here. Went to an “O’Neills” Irish pub today as was in a different part of the city, it has nothing on here- it’s just a chain pub, nothing Irish about it. Looking forward to coming back and getting food too next time. Thank you!”

“Booked a table here to watch the World Cup as it's just around the corner from my office. Brilliant pub for live sport, with plenty of screens. They also serve what I genuinely think is the best pint of Guinness in London. The staff were welcoming and friendly too. I'll definitely be back!”

Good to know
“Looking for the best Guinness in London? Aye, we thought so. Head to Gibney's, one of the best pubs in Shoreditch where authentic Irish hospitality meets great pints and delicious food. Sitting snugly beneath good ol’ Daffodil Mulligan, our pub serves up classic Irish dishes and live music every Thursday to Saturday. Catch all the action on the big screens with football, rugby, and GAA games, as well as live trad music, rock, folk and indie up on the stage. Located just off the Old Street roundabout, we’re only a 5 minute walk from Shoreditch and under 10 minutes from Liverpool Street Station. Book a snug or grab a table for larger groups. Sláinte!”
