Customer Review Summary
Reviewers most often describe cleaning that starts well before the stated sit-in closing time. Several recount staff vacuuming and mopping around occupied tables at about half past seven, asking customers to lift their feet, turning chairs upside down, or dragging chairs across the floor so loudly that conversation became impossible. Beyond that, a few say the drive-thru window is often closed, orders get mixed up, and the coffee is inconsistent, sometimes watery. One found a cinnamon bun dry in the middle, with the icing the best part. Others mention slow waits, a cup handed over without a heat sleeve, tables left with previous customers' crockery, and a non-electric car regularly parked in the electric charging bays. Praise is thinner but specific: one says the coffees are great, and another describes a staff member who upgraded two drinks to full size and paid for both.

“Went in for a coffee to be told at 7.15pm that they close at 9pm. Went to sit at a table for the chairs to be turned upside down and asked to lift my legs at 7.30pm so that they could hoover. Completely understand everything needs cleaned down but having to shout over a hoover to have a conversation at 7.30pm when it closes at 9pm is ridiculous.”

“Cleaning with noise no care about customers”

“Attended Starbucks Livingston with a friend at approximately 7:15pm. We were advised that sit-in service would end at 9:00pm, which was perfectly acceptable. What was not acceptable was the treatment of customers from that point onward. We waited around 15 minutes for our order while staff were already closing down large sections of the café. We then had to ask twice for a cake that had been ordered before finally finding one of the few remaining seats. By 7:40pm, with over an hour still remaining before the stated sit-in closing time, staff had begun vacuuming around occupied tables. Customers were being asked to lift their feet while cleaning took place. One customer was asked to stand up and move so an area could be cleaned while she was still seated and in conversation. Staff were also attempting to clear away drinks that customers had not finished, and mopping was carried out around people's feet while they were still trying to enjoy their visit. The issue is not that staff were cleaning. The issue is that they appeared more focused on getting customers out than providing a basic level of hospitality. If a business advertises sit-in service until 9:00pm, customers should not be made to feel like an inconvenience at 7:40pm. This was not subtle cleaning of empty tables in preparation for closing. It was intrusive, disruptive and frankly disrespectful to paying customers. The atmosphere created was one where customers were clearly no longer welcome despite being well within the advertised sit-in hours. Poor customer service, poor customer awareness and a complete lack of common courtesy. One of the most unwelcoming café experiences I have had.”

“Went in a month or so ago to get two drinks. I was talking to the Staff member (forgot to ask for the lovely lady's name) about how it was our Christmas celebration today, and she was so extremely nice and upgraded my drinks to a full size and paid for both of them. Absolutely made my day the drinks were amazing as they always are, and the staff are all so friendly every time I go in. 5/5 everything 🫶🏼”

“Waited 15 min this morning looked unorganised and slow. Cup handed without heat safety holder on it yet getting them inside??? Expensive disappointment.”
