Customer Review Summary
Generous portions at fair prices bring most reviewers back, and fried rice is the dish named most often: a duck fried rice that one diner loved, and a chicken fried rice with beansprouts that another says staff made to suit their dietary requirements. Close behind are the Char Siu Chow Mein, described as better than other takeaways' versions, and a fish supper with mushroom and onion gravy. One regular recommends the Chicken Satay and BBQ Ribs. Service is described as quick, with food hot and ready on arrival or fast when phoned in ahead. The complaints are specific. One diner found their chicken fried rice had nearly as much ham as chicken, called it boring, and binned two thirds of it. Another reports being given the wrong meal several times. One says MSG is added unless asked to leave it out. A few find staff not chatty or short on smiles, and one dislikes that it is cash only. Even so, the reviewer who got the wrong meal says a replacement was sorted really quickly.

“Had Char Siu Chow Mein last night and really enjoyed it, much better than other takeaways I’ve had the same dish from, and very good portion, would definitely go back and try other dishes.”

“Went in, ordered, and had my food hot and ready in 5 minutes. You get about double what you actually pay for, it is awesome. I got the duck fried rice and loved it. They only take cash, which is my only critique but it is still worth it. Great food made by people from Hong Kong and China.”

“Ordered Chicken Fried Rice today. There was nearly as much Ham as there was chicken. If I'd wanted Ham Fried Rice I'd have ordered it. Put me right off. Overall the size of the meal was good, but two thirds of it went in the bin. It was boring and lacked presentation. A bit of Soy Sauce perhaps had I been asked, might have helped. A bit of colour even, like some finely chopped Spring Onions maybe. It was crying out for something! Just lacked finesse, plus it failed the all important taste test.”

“Found the Chinese by pure accident and glad we did as our local one went downhill rapid as their food was a tasteless gloopy mess. Food here is always great, price is good and cooked quickly. Highly recommend to anyone.”

“I love the food from Fortune kitchen, the staff aren't too chatty, but the food I've had from here is fantastic. I love getting the fish supper with mushroom and onion gravy, but the other meals are so tasty as well. It's well worth the visit.”
