Customer Review Summary

Most reviewers come for the brisket, called delicious with a lovely sauce, and close behind are the burgers, described as mega and very filling. Diners also name the full rack of ribs with tender meat, pulled pork, a flat iron steak, the Kansas City smoke wings, crispy mac and cheese balls, the house slaw and a chocolate and peanut butter pie. Portions are repeatedly called large and plentiful, and several find the prices reasonable. Staff are described as welcoming, attentive and personal, with birthday meals marked by a handwritten card, complimentary sweets and a free burger for a visiting dog. The criticism is specific. One reviewer who had visited before found the Bloo Moo burger bland in an oversized bun, the bacon almost cremated, the Texas toast burnt, the corn on the cob mushy and the Cajun fries oddly fruity, with only the wings fine. Another found the hot dog like something out of a jar, and one wanted more alcohol free options beyond beer and cider. Even the disappointed reviewer called the service friendly.

“Had an unexpected afternoon in Lincoln for a couple of drinks and some food, came to huckleberrys and from start to finish it was beautiful, front of house spoke to us about a flat iron steak, which i chose just from the recommendation, my partner had the pork, one of the most tasteful meals ive had In years from a grill. Food aside and it was beautiful, The front of house were exceptional from the moment we walked in, attentive but not overpowering and not making you feel they are forced to talk to you or just ticking a box. A young lady was clearly training another young lady and you could see the attention to detail she was putting in to make the experience really good for us, she is a true asset this business because the trainee was fantastic also. From the greeting walking through the door to the leaving i can't fault it. The Food was delicious succulent. Thank you Huckleburreys we will be back xxx”

“Me and my partner ate here for her birthday. They wrote her a card and complimentary sweets. We ordered the beef brisket which was delicious and lovely sauce, chicken wings with kansas city smoke were lovely and crispy - sauce was lovely, mac and cheese balls were crispy and non greasy, the pig out hot dog was loaded and outstanding. And with the bill came with more sweets! Definitely would return. Service was outstanding! Thank you!”

“I’ve been to Huckleberry several times over the years and have always had a good experience, so unfortunately my last visit was quite disappointing. The food felt like it was made with cheap ingredients and wasn’t particularly well prepared. I had the Bloo Moo burger, which came in a massive white bun that was completely disproportionate to the filling. The burger itself was bland and the bacon was almost cremated. The Cajun fries also had a very odd, almost fruity taste that I didn’t particularly enjoy. My partner had the Texas toast, which was burnt, and the corn on the cob, which was mushy and lacked flavour. The wings were actually fine and probably the highlight of the meal. The service was attentive and friendly, so there were no complaints there, but unfortunately the food just wasn’t up to the standard I’ve experienced at Huckleberry previously. It’s a shame, but I think we’ll give it a miss from now on.”

“Went for our daughter’s birthday, the staff were absolutely amazing, they couldn’t do enough for us. It’s a dog friendly venue and they welcomed our dog and gave her a burger (she was very happy) food was great and very plentiful and everyone enjoyed it immensely.”
