Customer Review Summary
Praise centers on food that reviewers call excellent and very good, with a phone that never stops ringing with orders. Delivery drivers draw kind words repeatedly, described as lovely, polite and helpful, and one reviewer says delivery usually arrives faster than quoted. The complaints are detailed and recurring. One reviewer has twice had a walk-in order mislaid and suggests asking for it to be put through as a telephone order to get an order number. Others report a wrong order, staff who seemed disorganised, and a long wait past collection time. Dishes named as poor include a salty chow mein of noodles with a few pieces of chicken and no veg, sweet and sour, salt and pepper chicken that was not crispy in places and burnt in others, and a yuk sung that tasted off, so four diners could not eat it. Two reviewers mention starchy or oily, sticky rice. One reviewer who rang to complain describes no apology and a driver sent to collect the food, ending in only a partial refund.

“Great food, (normally) great service from friendly staff. Telephone is constantly ringing & that’s a testament to how popular it is. Unfortunately that means long waiting times when it’s busy. But sadly, that’s twice now I’ve walked in & ordered & the order has been mislaid/overlooked. It’s a shame because the food is usually excellent. It’s a victim of its own success. My advice, if your a walk in order then I’d ask for it to be put through as if it were a telephone order so you get an order number. It’s as if walk in orders somehow fall through the system. I still think it’s probably the best Chinese takeaway in Lichfield but I’ll be asking around for experiences of other establishments as an alternative to try.”

“Staff appeared disorganised not bothered attitude. Had to wait long time past collection time. At home starters were disappointing but main courses inedible. Chow mein just noodles with few pieces of chicken, no veg. And very salty. Sweet and sour not nice at all and rice very starchy. Rang to complain and was given no apology, just told they would send a driver out to collect the food, again no apology from him, and only partial refund given. Will not use hong Kong again...really gone downhill.”

“Order was wrong. Ginger and spring onion sauce for prawns was all Ginger no depth. Salt and pepper chicken was really poor, not crispy in some places but slightly burnt in others and seasoning was weak. Yuk sung tasted off, all 4 of us couldn’t eat it. Worst Chinese food we’ve eaten in some time.”
