Customer Review Summary
Tank Budvar is the draw reviewers raise most, described as fresh Czech beer, and it sits alongside a sports bar atmosphere they call welcoming, with TV screens everywhere and a great sound system for football. Food comes close behind: a burger called perfectly cooked, pizza, fairly priced lunch specials, and chicken tendies that were good but only three to a portion. The Gym Box salad drew a mixed verdict, with added halloumi making the dish and one reviewer wanting a bigger portion. Complaints are scattered. One reviewer called the strawberry daiquiri the worst they had had, another found the food a bit pricey, and one found the kitchen ticket time long even when the bar was quiet, though a repeat visit was far quicker. One reviewer reports being refused food service while with a service dog, and describes the doorman as aggressive. One suggests advance reservations for big matches. Others praise friendly staff who accepted a birthday cake brought in and offered plates and utensils.

“EDIT: went in again and ticket time was a far better 10 minutes. Bar staff were welcoming and accommodating of my zero alcohol preference. 5 ⭐️ Food was absolutely gorgeous! Ticket time was a little long at 40 minutes when they were at like 1/3 capacity but it was definitely worth it. Delicious!”

“Extremely rude and aggressive threatening doorman. Thursday 25th June 6:50pm. Came here to order some food and sit outside as I have done for years. I have a service dog (which I sit outside with anyway) was told I could not order any food and forced to leave. Was happy to just pay at the bar and sit outside, however the manager refused the business and the doorman continued his power trip. Such a shame as the staff here are usually amazing. With 15 years and running in the hospitality sector I won’t be returning nor recommending this place anymore. Disgraceful behaviour”

“The Box in Headingley was absolutely fantastic, constantly checking in on our mate one session, asking when we were ready for drinks, accommodating with the cake we bought for our friends birthday, offering plates and utensils etc, and were over all absolutely lovely. Brilliant and quick when I wanted to extend our time with the karaoke; fantastic crew”

“Delicious tank fresh Budvar beer. It's a sports bar but a very welcoming one. I'd imagine lots of people would be happy drinking here so don't not come because you're worried it's a sports bar.”

“Great to have a place serving Budvar near by. I love the sportsbar atmosphere, I can enjoy watching sports with great beer and bar food. I also recommend the cocktail calling "Pornstar-Stein-Tini", absolute delicious 🤤”
