Fresh fish and seafood come from the fish market every day, and the menu's fish and seafood choices follow that daily sourcing. Customer Review Summary

Pasta draws the most praise, from the Paccheri con Salsiccia and Pappardelle con Anatra, with its generous duck, to a flambéed pasta and a pasta al norma one diner calls the best outside Catania. Close behind are the tender Spalla d'Agnello Brasata, scallops in Thermidor sauce, fresh oysters and a lemon tart. Reviewers also single out the interior and the welcoming, smiley staff, and one notes the kitchen readily swapped a pasta on request. A few call it pricey, though one says the cost reflects the quality. The recurring caveat is uneven treatment. One reviewer says a manager waved them to a table and told them to book online, while he warmly seated another couple. Another felt treated worse than an older couple nearby and received a main on a cracked plate. The first reviewer also found a dish listed as Tiger Prawn arrived as six shrimps. Still, one anniversary diner ends by thanking a server for the ice cream and limoncello.

“We’ve been to La Coppola a few times now so we had to go back for our 1st wedding anniversary! As always, the service was impeccable, the food was incredible and we left full and happy! This place is a massive 10/10, do not miss the opportunity to go. Massive thank you to our server, Paolo, you were superb, thank you for the ice cream and limoncello 😁”

“This restaurant never fails in terms of food quality or the friendly attitude of every staff member we’ve ever encountered. Beautiful scallops in Thermidor sauce and the best pasta al norma outside Catania in Sicily. I couldn’t recommend highly enough.”

“An absolutely brilliant restaurant. The food was fantastic - I had a three course meal and was thoroughly impressed by every dish. I felt portions were well thought out, being decently sized but not excessive. While the price was premium, it was reflected in the quality. The menu carries a substantial wine list to cater to a range of budgets and tastes. The atmosphere in the restaurant was excellent. The decor is well put together, being pretty but not intrusive. A genuinely nice place to be, so all the better that you're permitted a generous two hours for the table. While I'd intended for a quicker lunch, we ended up using almost the full two hours, though despite this I felt no pressure from staff to leave. The service was faultless. Orders were taken quickly, and the service was polite and practical. While the courses were well spaced and I didn't feel rushed, it equally was not sluggish or dragging. La Coppola is certainly a restaurant I will soon be returning to, managing to accomplish the rare feat of excelling in all areas. A place fully deserving of being the choice for the occasional treat or special occasion.”

“It took me a few months to get around to writing this review, but I didn’t want to forget this experience. On our first visit in last October, there were only two occupied tables—ours and another table with a white couple. The manager was very warm and attentive towards them, even helping to pull out their chairs and take their coats to hang up. In contrast, when he approached us, he simply pointed to a table and asked us to sit ourselves. At the time, I didn’t want to be overly sensitive, but the difference in treatment was noticeable and uncomfortable. The food on that visit was decent, so we decided to book a table for December 31. As we were leaving, we saw the same manager at the entrance counter speaking on the phone. We waited beside him, and when he eventually acknowledged us, he asked what we needed. We said we would like to make a reservation, but he told us to book online instead and continued his phone call. The service attitude was quite disappointing. On New Year’s Eve, that particular manager was not present, but the overall experience was still underwhelming. Some dishes felt misleading in terms of value. For example, one main course listed as “Tiger Prawn” turned out to be six shrimps, each about the size of an index finger ( photo attached, note that it was a closed up shot), priced at €32. Given that we were dining at 17:00, it is unlikely they had run out of ingredients. The other dishes were acceptable though. We have dined at many mid- to high-end restaurants, but this one fell below expectations in both service and value. It has now been added to our blacklist, and we will not be returning. Perhaps they are not yet accustomed to serving customers of different backgrounds, particularly Asian guests. We have been to another Italian restaurant in Leamington Spa and the service there was more professional.”

“A little bit about us.. Since its opening in May 2008, lovers of Italian food have made La Coppola the place to enjoy the best Italy can offer the discerning palate. Our Head Chef and his team, conjure up dishes using only the finest and freshest ingredients, many sourced directly from Italy, like the buffalo mozzarella from Campania, sun ripened tomatoes from Sicily and 24 month matured San Daniele Parma ham, with locally supplied fresh produce an equally important feature. The manager and his team will welcome you to your table and offer you specialities from our menu which will always include choices of fresh fish and seafood that have been sourced directly from the fish market on a daily basis.”
