About Punjabi Junction
Punjabi Junction is an Indian takeaway in Johnstone, based at Unit 1, that pairs its Indian cooking with hoagies, burgers and kebabs. The hoagie, also spelled hoggie, comes with kebab sauce and is ordered with chips, which suits anyone who wants a handheld option from an Indian kitchen. Burgers come as chicken or beef, with salad and sauce options. The takeaway is open daily, evenings only, so it works as a dinner stop on any night of the week.

Customer Review Summary
The hoagie is the item reviewers raise most, and mostly as a letdown. Several describe it as soggy, one says it had no salad and only a teaspoon of kebab sauce, and another found the kebab sauce frozen in the tub and the food rock solid. That reviewer reports severe food poisoning afterward. A few say the food was microwaved, and one says the person on the phone shouted that he had microwaved it when they called about a soggy order. Order errors recur too. One customer got red sauce instead of the extra pakora sauce requested and was told yogurt sauce had to be asked for, and another received an undercooked beef burger and a chicken burger with the wrong toppings. A weekly regular says the lamb bhoona was good as always but the mushroom rice tasted off, and wonders whether staff have changed. Others praise the kebab as the best in ages, with friendly staff.

“Punjabi Junction what has happened lately? We have ordered from here for many years at least once per week, food has always been delicious, fresh and the best Indian meals around, however recently it has failed? Tonight we had lamb bhoona with mushroom rice. The lamb bhoona was good as always, but the mushrooms in the rice had a very funky taste, not sure if they had gone off? We couldn't eat the rice. Last week I ordered a chicken burger with salad and spicy sauce along with a beef burger with no salad and burger sauce. My beef burger was undercooked with salad and spicy sauce and my son had no salad and burger sauce with his chicken burger??? Have you changed staff as this mix up and poor quality food is highly unlike the previous standards! From disappointed and confused regular customers. 😪”
