Quick info
About Drift Inn
Drift Inn is a seafood and grill restaurant on Shore Road in Lamlash on the Isle of Arran, with views across the bay to Holy Isle. Seating is indoors and in a conservatory, so the water stays in sight from more than one spot. The menu leans on seafood and grill dishes, with local langoustines, a venison burger and macaroni made with Arran smoked cheese among the choices. A daily specials board runs alongside it. The fully stocked bar also pours an alcohol-free 0.0% beer on draught for anyone skipping alcohol. Dogs are welcome, so owners can bring them along.

Customer Review Summary
The main complaints come from a two-star review of the burger, where the meat was poor quality, the chips tasteless, and the crispy onion topping burnt, with small portions and a long wait for dessert menus. A three-star review found the "sourdough bread roll" was two slices of seemingly store bought bread and the side salad looked like a supermarket mix. Some note the food takes a while to arrive, and several mention it gets busy. Dogs being welcome and a seat found straight away in the conservatory at lunch close the picture.

“Called in twice whilst holidaying in Lamlash. Great menu selection as well as a specials board. They also catered well for some serious dietary issues. Friendly and helpful staff, wouldn't hesitate in recommending The Drift Inn. Thank you.....”

“The food was okay overall, but there's room for improvement. The soup of the day tasted really good, but the "sourdough bread roll" turned out to be two slices of (what seemed to be) store bought bread. The side salad that came with the macaroni also came off like a salad mix from the supermarket. The mussels were really good though.”

“Cracking restaurant on the front at Lamlash. Lovely views over the bay looking at Holy Isle. The food is fantastic and it can get busy so worth booking if you want to make sure of a table. My wife had the langoustines and I had the venison burger, both were fabulous.”

“Great food, great staff, and a lovely atmosphere! The food took a while to come out, but that's how we knew it was being cooked properly and not flung in a microwave. We didn't catch our waiter's name but he was an absolute pleasure and had us feeling welcome all evening! I had the steak from the specials board, and it was cooked exactly how I requested. I do wish there were more sauces available to choose from on the menu since I asked for no pepper sauce, but it wasn't a make or break so I didn't mind. We'll certainly be back!”

“They have an extensive seating area with indoor tables, tables in the conservatory as well as outdoor. It is popular so you would be advised to book in advance for dinner. Dogs are welcome. The menu is great alo g with daily specials. The view across to the holy isle is worth it. Have been a few times and never fails to deliver. The staff are welcoming and there is a fully stocked bar.”

“Situated in the heart of Lamlash looking across the bay to breathtaking views of the Holy Isle; The Drift Inn's seafood and grill menu is an unmissable treat for all the senses. Our menu is predominately Seafood and Grill style with the likes of local langoustines, scallops, mussels and local lamb a regular feature - but we always make sure there is a bit of something for everybody!”
