  “We had a lovely time at the River house. The booking of the table was very easy, and accomodating. Big thank you to Alfie for picking the perfect table for us. The staff were extremely friendly, even when we arrive 15 minutes early. The food was lovely, the children really enjoyed their small portions of fish and chips (they are very fussy eaters).   “We had a fantastic meal here. It was the best restaurant we visited during our trip to Scotland. Quality comes at a price, but the experience and service we received were absolutely worth it. The staff were impeccable, and we truly appreciate the wonderful experience. Thank you! One piece of advice: make sure to book a table well in advance (ideally several weeks ahead!) as it gets very busy.”

  “Maybe the best restaurant in Inverness? Certainly our favorite! Everything was delicious and the service was very friendly. Some of the best seafood we had in Scotland, every dish was fresh and prepared flawlessly. Can’t wait to go back!”

  “Absolute Fabulous!! Started with olives, bread and oysters. Some of the best oysters I’ve ever had! Whiting nibbles were crispy and fresh! Seafood pasta, scallops and halibut were extremely well done! Alfie the host was friendly and inviting, do not miss this restaurant!! Book way in advance!”

  “Fantastic restaurant! The seafood was absolutely delicious. The oysters I had were divine. I clearly have never had good quality oysters before. Plus the sauces that accompanied them just added to the experience. Every bite was sublime. When it came to the desset, because we couldn't decide between the creme brulee rice pudding (yes, it was warm!) and the passionfruit cheesecake; we had both. Oh my...they tasted so good together! In fact they were so good, we ordered both desserts again! Going to have to make a beeline for this restaurant the next time I'm in Inverness! Thank you River House for an exceptional culinary experience! 🙏🏾”

  “A delightful and absolutely delicious experience. Alfie welcomed us and made us feel right at home with a great table and fun conversation. The food was so good, I'm still thinking about the halibut 24 hours later. Service is excellent. The vibe is elegant but not stuffy. Attire is casual. Reservations absolutely recommended. I can't wait to return to River House!”

  “Excellent service from the moment I booked. Asked for a recommendation and Abbey was amazing, found a new wine and the best Cullen Skink. Cod was divine with pea puree. Magda the waitress treated me like family. As a solo female traveller, my heart and soul has been fed well tonight. I'll be back, bravo everyone 👏”

  “Amazing meal by the river in Inverness. For starters I had the oysters which were really good. For mains I had the halibut which was superb, perfectly cooked and with some nice veg. A nice glass of Prosecco to go with it. Was served by Nicola (I think) who was excellent and really helpful with good recommendations. Will be back again soon thank you.”

  “Came to Inverness as part of our road trip through Scotland. So we made reservations at River House around 2 weeks prior (note that we were there in December and a bit off season) and this place did not disappoint. We felt very welcomed from the moment we entered. The staff was very attentive and the food was delicious. You have to make reservations as the place is small in a good and intimate way and it gets booked fast. And not to mention that the next evening we were walking by the restaurant and the staff recognized us. Highly recommend!”
