About Little Italy
On Stephens St in Inverness, Little Italy is an Italian restaurant opened in 2009 and run by a family, billed as the only Italian family-run restaurant in the city. The menu starts with garlic bread, bruschetta, meatballs and minestrone, then moves to pasta, pizza and mains such as lasagne and Pollo Marsala. Spaghetti carbonara and seafood linguine anchor the pasta and fish dishes, and tiramisu is offered for dessert. The dining room is candlelit with music playing, and some of the staff speak Italian. Little Italy is open Monday to Saturday and closed on Sundays. The team handles group bookings and accommodates special requests, including menu changes and off-menu cocktails.

Customer Review Summary
Pasta anchors the praise at Little Italy, with reviewers singling out the Aglio e Olio, the linguine with seafood, spaghetti carbonara and penne. Close behind are the garlic bread, which one table says vanished before they noticed, the lasagne, the Pollo Marsala and a pizza with a great crust, olives, artichoke and ham. Starters of minestrone, bruschetta and meatballs come up too, as does a tiramisu to finish. Diners describe a cosy, quiet room with candlelight, lots of Italian spoken by the waiter, and a large portion with no risk of walking away hungry. The one criticism comes from a reviewer who found the food great but wished the chef would use more salt and pepper. Service draws repeated warmth, with staff called friendly and accommodating. They changed menus and made off-menu cocktails for one party, and for a Saturday table of nine women they went out to buy ingredients for the cocktails.

“Warning: the garlic bread may cause arguments over the last piece! 😂🧄 The Aglio e Olio was perfectly garlicky, silky, and packed with flavor, while the garlic bread was so good it vanished before we even realized it. Simple dishes done brilliantly. Little Italy is proof that you don’t need a fancy menu to win people over just great food!”

“Warm, cosy, very friendly little restaurant. Food is great, but ask for chef to use more salt and pepper. Large portion, no risk of walking away hungry.”

“I had the Pollo Marsala and roasted veggies, it was so good I cleared my plate which almost never happens. Such a great little hidden gem. You don’t want to miss it.”

“Quiet Thursday late evening at Little Italy. Greeted right away, seated -- and provided proper but friendly service. Penne Pasta and also Linguine with EXCELLENT seafood were wonderful. Candlelight, music of a certain era (Abba, Manilow, Joel...) perfect dinner in beautiful Italian "section" of Inverness!”
