About Café V8
Café V8 is a truck stop cafe in Inverness, on Henderson Rd, where drivers can book a paid shower and sit down to a meal in the same family-style restaurant. Each shower lasts about ten minutes, and access is by key card, a combination and a key held in a wall safe. An in-house pie maker supplies the pie selection, including a steak pie served with a side of gravy and made fresh. Breakfast comes with a choice of options, and the menu also lists fish and chips and a blood pudding sandwich. Dedicated parking sits on site.

Customer Review Summary
Reviewers most often single out the steak pie, which several call incredible and made fresh, with one noting the gravy on the side and a short wait for it. Close behind are the fish and chips, described as having crisp batter and fresh fish, plus a chicken burger and lasagna that one pair called excellent with good portions. Breakfast and a blood pudding sandwich also get mentions, and staff are repeatedly called friendly and helpful. The shower is the main complaint: one reviewer finds the key card, wall safe and combination routine confusing and wishes the ten minutes lasted longer, while another thinks the shower price is high compared with elsewhere in the UK. One breakfast diner found the coffee tasted instant, the staff apathetic, and no oat or alternative milk available for a lactose intolerant wife. Several walkers from the dolphin cruise mention coming in hungry, and one pie order arrived fresh after a short wait.

“Steak pie is great, showers are decent, only get ten minutes in shower, would be nice if it lasted longer, also it's kinda janky to get a shower, you pay and get a key card and a combination, gotta find a safe in the wall and enter the combination, then get a key, then find the bathroom and unlock with key, swipe your card and throw it away, then hurry in the shower before it shuts off, then return the key to the wall safe. Fairly confusing at first.”

“Two of us had lunch here on a Sunday before heading home after a few days at our boat in the marina. One meal was a chicken burger, which was excellent. The other was a lasagna. Again, excellent. Tasty and good size portion. One coffee and one glass of water was our only other purchase as too full for desserts. The staff were friendly and the toilets clean. All round a good experience and we will be back. Price...about £25 for everything.”
