  “Not my favourite in all honesty. Stopped off today. Chips were a solid 5/5. But not overly keen on the doughy batter or only ok portion size of the haddock. Was expecting better.”

  “Unfortunately not great for a start, charging 21 pound for two lots of sausage and chips is not great it obviously an over charge for tourists and also reheated batter sausage isn't safe and leave the batter chewy and using cheap sausage taste awful and about twenty five chips Last time we were here we paid 14 including drinks so I would suggest going to one of the many local pubs in the area and getting better food for less money”

  “I hated that it was closed on day (A Monday at 6:30) Google says it's open. 😠 However I asked in the shop opposite and they said it hadn't closed down or anything and it was unusual to be closed. No note or anything apologising or anything also annoying.”

  “Beautifully prepared fresh fish and some of the best chips I have ever had made me a happy Canadian. The owner with the strong Scottish accent was a real character and was rightfully proud of his food. Loved sitting at the outside tables and watching the world go by.”

  “We were on a school trip and wanted to get some chips and they were amazing and the service was incredble.all the people that had them were in shock and I would not of put 6 starts I would put up 10.”

  “Do not drive past, delicious food and even better prices for what your getting. The men behind the counter were welcoming, polite and couldn't be more helpful. Would be a struggle to find nicer food nearby, especially at the cost. Cheers troops!!”

  “Found this location while passing through after being treated to the traditional smell of fish and chips in the air. As it was raining sitting inside made more sense. The chef in the takeaway side was kind enough to point out that the cafe next door was all part of the same establishment. So we ventured into the cafe on the other side and were seated quickly by a server who seemed streched thin compared to the number of dinners present. Needing to obviously work at a pace, his communication was direct. Our intention was always to have a light lunch as smaller fish was avaible to purchase next door but after browsing the menu for a couple of minutes and seeing the size of the portions being delivered to the tables it was obvious that this was too much food for each of us. I enquired about the possibility of a smaller portion or maybe an alternative menu. The flat response we were given was "We don't mess around with stuff like that here" and "if you want a small fish then you can go next door and buy one". So we left. Not recommended.”
