  “this is honestly hands down the worst brisket ive ever eaten. it was dry, flavourless,the sauce that accompanied it was thin and tasteless the burnt ends and pork belly starter we just covered in fat and very chewy. have to say the fries were nice and onion rings were too. staff were very accompanying and understanding. 2 main meals sent back. will not be returning ever.”

  “What in incredible place!!!! Staff were so lovely and attentive, the fella taking orders was so chatty and friendly nothing seemed too much for him, and the lady at the bar made the best cocktails!! Food was incredible, and absolutely a bargain for the money, I was in awe when they brought out a SECOND!!! plate for the sharing platter. Would highly recommend this place, suitable for all ages!”

  “Went for one of the BBQ trays, the brisket was a little dry, ribs and chicken were both excellent, smoked sausage was fine. The pork belly bites were a bit of a let down as they came in a bowl of oil so it didn't leave a great mouthfeel. The waiter on the day was exceptional, very attentive to our 9 people group, one of the best I have experienced. Give the man a pay rise.”

  “Booked here for a Saturday night tea. Service was slightly slow to begin with and had to ask to order drinks. Drinks came over and were lovely! Food order was taken swiftly and food came within 15 minutes. Food was lovely and steak cooked to perfection. Partner had the rack of ribs but tasted too much like smoke. This was too overpowering and couldn’t finish his meal. Felt like our table was also like was just plonked on the end like a make do table for 2. Staff were lovely and always on hand if needed anything.”

  “It would have been 5 stars across the board, unfortunately my Brisket was rubbery. The whole meal combo we had was really good. I think price point is spot on. Just sadly my brisket let it down. My friends was spot on. Would I go there again. 💯 I would”

  “Partner was in Hull for a business trip and his company came here for dinner. Service was nice and friendly. The main was incredible, he ordered the ribs which he said were absolutely amazing. He was happy that they accommodated his request of no butter on the corn. Apparently it wasn’t too clear to the party that the sides weren’t included in the main’s original price when they began ordering. Apparently the text on the menus was quite small and hard to read. My partner is allergic to dogs, he was not a fan of dogs running under his table as the party ate, especially as he believed the policy was that dogs were kept on a lead. Really cool vibe and aesthetic to the place which he enjoyed. Very clean toilets! He said he would definitely return.”

  “Date Night and we thought we would try something new. We saw a video on some of the food Smoke Room offers and knew we had to visit. We grabbed the sharing platter, not being here before we thought we get a bit of lots of things. OMG did we underestimate the amount of food! The amount of food could be shared with 4! It was absolutely amazing though! The service was brilliant, it’s nice to be served with smiles! The atmosphere was great too. We will be back at some point for definite!”

  “Our first visit here and we will be back! The mains were soooo good! Lost one star due to a couple of minor things and the brownie, but the main meals definitely earned the other stars. There’s a multi story car park near by, which we were very grateful for as it was chucking it down. They have limited parking on weekends though, so parking could be difficult at busy times. Just a short walk and we were there, very wet and very hungry. We were promptly seated, right by the toilet door. I asked to be moved to one of the many empty tables but was told no. Just as I was considering leaving, another staff member very kindly moved us to a more central table. I’m so grateful they did, as we would have missed out on the amazing food otherwise. The restaurant looks great! It’s quite a rustic vibe, with lots a quirky decor. The waiting staff were very attentive, and brought drinks quickly. It was hard to choose what to order as everything sounded incredible. Once we did order though, we couldn’t believe how fast the food came. It was well under 10 minutes and the food arrived piping hot. We both had smashed burgers, mine with beef brisket and my son’s with pulled pork. We also ordered the loaded fried with beef brisket and mac cheese because they sounded so good and we just had to try them. Honestly, we couldn’t get over how nice it all was, it was to die for! The portions were large, so we couldn’t finish everything, but we tried our best. I cannot express how good the main meals were! We cannot wait to go back to try more. Although we were full, we were also keen to see how good the desserts were. We had high expectations after the mains. My son ordered ice cream and I had brownie with banoffee ice cream. The ice cream was lovely! Unfortunately the brownie was a bit dry though. It tasted like it was maybe a few days old and had been warmed in the microwave. I prefer my brownie fudgy so it was disappointing. It definitely needed some more chocolate sauce too. We weren’t too bothered though as they were reasonably priced desserts and it didn’t spoil our meal at all. One other slight issue at the end was that no bill or receipt was offered. I asked for the bill and the waitress just told me the amount owed. I think most people like to see a breakdown of their bill and that’s pretty standard in restaurants. Lots of places have started automatically charging a serving charge now, so I’d have liked to have known if one was added. I did give a reasonable tip (about little over £4) but I would have given more if I’d known if a service charge had already been added. It just felt very awkward, I didn’t want to not tip in case a charge wasn’t added, but didn’t want to tip a lot in case it had. I hope the negatives will be taken as constructive criticism and not criticism of the staff. The bill came to a little over £65 for 4 soft drinks, 2 mains, 1 side and 2 desserts, which I think was very reasonable. We’ll be back soon. We really want to work our way through the menu.”

  “We were a part of three adults visiting for the first time for a 18:45 booking on a Friday evening. The food was amazing! Cannot fault it at all. The service however, was a joke. There was a blonde waitress who was great, attentive, fast acting and really pleasant. Unfortunately for us she left at 20:00 and it went off downhill. Staff were stood at the bar, chatting, looking at phones and generally having a great time. This included who I assume was the manager. Not one of them turned to check on customers. We wanted to order dessert but it took us to long to get the bill we went home. Such a shame as the food was incredible. Can't recommend unless you like being ignored and paying for the privilege.”
