About Little Lotus Huddersfield
Little Lotus Huddersfield is a sushi restaurant at 29 King St in Huddersfield, run as a walk-in counter with chilled fridges at the front of the store. The team hand-rolls sushi each morning, and readymade sushi, noodle and rice boxes wait in those fridges, with both veggie and meat options. Hot food is served at the counter, with katsu curry on the menu alongside veggie gyoza and miso soup. Bubble tea is sold as well, with chocolate and vanilla flavours. Some of the food is halal, and the readymade halal boxes carry a HALAL label, so customers can ask the staff about the rest. Seating is split between a mezzanine upstairs and a floor downstairs. The restaurant moved here from a small unit in Kingsgate shopping centre and now has its own space.

Customer Review Summary
Freshly made sushi is the main draw, with reviewers describing it as consistently fresh across repeat visits and balanced in taste. Close behind are the hot dishes, especially the katsu curry and sweet chilli chicken, along with veggie gyoza, miso soup, a nigiri combo and a veggie set. One reviewer calls the veg gyoza miso rice noodles hearty and piping hot, and others cite generous portions and plenty of veggie and meat choice. Friendly, helpful staff and the upstairs mezzanine also earn mentions. Bubble tea divides opinion. Some call the boba great, while others report mushy tapioca pearls that are hard in the centre, vanilla that could be stronger, or a drink that is never really that good. One reviewer finds freshness hit or miss, a few call prices on the high side, and one notes limited seating for big families. One reviewer suggests asking staff about halal options, since readymade halal boxes are labelled.

“Friendly staff, nice interior - I love the mezzanine level - and delicious food. The katsu curry and sweet chilli chicken are especially tasty, prices and portions are decent, and the sushi in the chilled section is scrumptious, too. Well worth a stop!”

“Nice place. The food's hit or miss, sometimes fresh, sometimes not. But generally, it's as it looks. The quality and taste are great, though.”

“Never disappoints, great selection, tastes good, always fresh. All staff members follow SOP's diligently. Over the past few years, on our numerous visits, they never fell short at sevice or quality. I suppose thats what makes it the best sushi place around. Bubble tea might need a bit of work though, sometimes the tapioca pearls are mushy and hard in the centre. This is our go to place for the best quality sushi.”

“We love this place. There aren’t many healthy and filling options when you’re out and about so this really stands out. Great boba, generous portions, hits that sushi craving and loads of choice for both veggie and meat options. We’ve been a few times now and definitely plan on coming back many more. It’s just as good for sitting in as it is for takeaway. Highly recommend the miso soup (it really hits the spot), as well as the katsu curry, veggie gyoza, nigiri combo and the veggie set. So glad to have such a great place nearby.”

“I love ordering from this place, the quality is consistent everytime, they've never messed up my order, the boba is awesome, they always give the right amount of sauce and meat, never had anything spill while being delivered. I'm so happy this place went from that small area in the kingsgate shopping center to having their own space. Very happy.”
