Customer Review Summary
Breakfast draws the most praise, with diners singling out a full English, French toast on wholemeal bread with warm fruit coulis, and eggs cooked runny where they should be. Close behind is the staff, described as friendly and welcoming, including one group who were helped to find space for two buggies and four children. A Sunday roast with fluffy Yorkshire puddings and meat that melts in the mouth, along with lovely coffee, tea and generously sized cakes, also earns credit. The complaints are specific. One reviewer found a seafood platter disappointing, with tuna that tasted canned, defrosted shrimps and a lasagna that might have been frozen. After the refurbishment, another reported weak coffee, a smashed avocado and halloumi order that arrived with feta, an oily omelette, and staff serving a couple who pushed in ahead of waiting customers. A Biscoff hot chocolate turned too sweet once the biscuit melted, and one reviewer suggests eating the biscuit first. When a diner found the music too loud, it was turned down.

“Great food staff really friendly. The music was a bit loud and didn't suit the atmosphere. When asked to turn the music down a bit they did. I appreciated it as then I could then chat to my friend 🧡”

“This is such a gorgeous cafe/restaurant. The staff went above and beyond for me and my friends. We came with our 2 buggies and 4 kids between us and they made us feel so welcome, helping us find a seat and space. The coffee and tea were all so lovely and the cakes were incredible. We had a few shares between us because they were such good sizes. If you are a local or coming through this is a perfect stopping place. Thanks so much lovely Vanilla Bean and staff.”

“We have ordered biscof hot chocolate and late for drinks and full English breakfast for food. The staff was super busy so it took some time to place order but delivery was speedy. They were friendly. Both drinks were good initially but by letting biscof biscuit melt, it made the hot chocolate too sweat and not too tasty so you need to remember to eat it first. The full English is what you would expect but not sure if it is worth the price. It was OK.”

“We just had an incredible breakfast here! 🍳 The food, including a veggie option, was absolutely perfect and arrived quickly despite the place being busy. The staff were cheerful, and the chef clearly delivers high-quality meals. 😋 We'll definitely be back, especially with the convenient 2-hour free parking nearby! Highly recommend! 👍”
