About El Castello Odiham
On High St in Hook, El Castello Odiham is an Italian restaurant that makes its pasta fresh in house. The fresh pappardelle comes with black truffle cream and porcini mushrooms, and a pasta special sits on the menu beside it. The wine list includes Village Bacchus, a local white from Penncroft Vineyard, which pairs with the pasta dishes. Pizza is also on the menu, and starters range from garlic mushrooms in a Gorgonzola, white wine and garlic sauce to a mussels special. Dessert is homemade too, and the tiramisu is one of several options.

Customer Review Summary
Homemade pasta draws the most praise, from the pappardelle with black truffle cream, porcini mushrooms and garlic, called perfection on a plate, to a lasagne made with fresh pasta. Close behind are the desserts, with the homemade tiramisu, panna cotta, espresso crème brûlée and lime and coconut cheesecake all singled out. Starters earn mentions too, including garlic mushrooms in a Gorgonzola, white wine and garlic sauce, arancini, a specials mussels dish and king prawns, while one diner enjoyed a Pollo pizza. Reviewers also point to a local Bacchus on the wine list, ice cold Peroni and an owner described as very knowledgeable about wine. Staff are repeatedly called friendly and attentive, portions generous, and the atmosphere relaxed and cosy. One reviewer notes the restaurant gets very busy and says booking is needed. Another, seated as the last table on a late Sunday booking, never felt rushed.

“The food was incredible & El Castello has easily become our new favourite place to eat. The food was really fresh, full of flavour & generous portions. The staff were also friendly & attentive & the atmosphere was relaxed & cosy making it perfect for a nice meal out. Everything we ordered was amazing but the homemade tiramisu and panna cotta deserve a special shout out, so definitely worth saving room for dessert! We’ll definitely be back and would highly recommend to anyone in the area!”
