About Brent House Carvery

Brent House Carvery is a family-run carvery on Bristol Rd in Highbridge, built around a carving station where a server cuts the meat to order. Diners choose from five meats, with pork crackling available, and plates come with Yorkshire puddings, roast potatoes and vegetables. A full dessert section of classic puddings follows, and local ale is also on the menu. Meals are served in a conservatory at the back with views of the hills, as well as in an oak-framed extension. Dogs are welcome, and the carvery queue can run long at busy times. Boxes are provided for taking leftovers home.

Customer Review Summary

Diners return above all for the carvery meat, with the lamb described as tender and generously served and the pork crackling called one to die for. Reviewers also praise fluffy crispy roasts, Yorkie puds and slightly crunchy vegetables. Desserts come close behind, with a huge choice that several single out, and one visitor calls the coffee outstanding. Staff are repeatedly described as friendly, welcoming and attentive, and the carvers get particular thanks. The complaints are fewer and specific. One reviewer was limited to two meats and found the crackling too hard on top. Another could not go back for more vegetables or potatoes. A third waited a long time in a very busy queue for a single carvery, and one suggests booking a table beforehand. Several mention that leftovers and desserts they could not finish were boxed up to take home, with tupperware provided at no extra charge.

“Great food. Friendly service. Shout out to Simon on knife. What a great find. This place really does the business. Five cuts to choose from and Pork crackling to die for. Oh and if you have room, a full dessert section to pick. Yes if you’re to full, they’ll provide a box to take away. Well worth the price and we will be back”

“Food was delicious with excellent choice of meat and lovely fresh vegetables. There was no skimping with the portions carved and they even provided tupperware to take home what you couldn't finish at no extra charge. ALL staff were friendly and offered excellent customer service. Nothing was to much trouble. This family run restaurant is definitely a carvery I would recommend to all.”

“I popped in to the Brent House Carvery yesterday just for a coffee. The hospitality from Matthew and the team was second to none. I do a lot of travelling and the reception received here is better than anywhere. Very friendly, very welcoming. It's a real treat. The coffee was also outstanding and very fairly priced. Their Carverys are also excellent too. I look forward to returning. Mathew is a gem.”
