About The Flying Bean Cafe Ltd

The Flying Bean Cafe Ltd is an independent coffee shop at High Wycombe Station, serving customers through a platform-side service hatch. The business began in 2012 as a coffee van and now runs a van fleet alongside station kiosks on the Chiltern Line at High Wycombe, Aylesbury, Princes Risborough and Beaconsfield, plus one at Amersham on the Underground. Its kitchen in High Wycombe hand makes sandwiches, baguettes, wraps and salads each day for the vans. The hatch serves coffee and pastries to people stopping before a journey, and a loyalty card scheme is available for return visits. The company also runs business park cafe units in Woking, Maidenhead, Reading and Bracknell.

Customer Review Summary

Reviewers most often single out the friendly service at the High Wycombe station cafe, with the two women behind the counter praised repeatedly as cheery, helpful and welcoming. Several describe it as a good start to a long journey, and a few mention the platform side service hatch as a bonus. Regulars say their faces are recognised and their order is remembered and prepared as they walk in, and one notes that staff hold onto loyalty cards to save time on busy mornings. Close behind is the food, with a croissant and the pastries named, and the coffee is called great or decent by most, plus a lovely iced latte on a hot day. Prices are described as not extortionate. The one critical note comes from a three star reviewer who liked the pastries and service but found the beans a cheap, bitter dark roast, despite the cool coffee machine. Even on a cold Monday morning, reviewers describe smiling faces behind the counter.

“The pastries and the customer service are great. 3 stars because, despite the cool coffe machine, the coffee beans are on the cheap dark roast bitter way.”
