Customer Review Summary

Diners most often single out the pies, with a chicken, ham and leek pie and a pie paired with lamb rump named alongside a bacon chop one reviewer calls the best they have had. Kids mac and cheese gets praise too, and reviewers describe the food as hot, well presented and good value, with generous portions and a bread starter mentioned. Friendly, helpful staff come up repeatedly, including a server who remembers regulars' drinks and will swap chips for rice. One group praises the quiet back area for a celebration of life, arranged on short notice. The criticisms are sharper. One reviewer sent back a steak asked for rare that arrived blue, cold and tough, and the second attempt came back the same, leaving them over two hours in and still hungry. Another found the front desk greeting unwelcoming, and one noted a broken cubicle lock in the ladies toilets and no option to tip by card.

“We recently held a celebration of life at The Flying Shuttle, and the experience was smooth from start to finish. The food was good, fresh, and very plentiful for all our guests. The area around the back was perfect, quiet, private, and away from other patrons, without feeling isolated. Jake the manager and his lovely team made coordination completely effortless with short notice. The team were always on hand, very friendly, and nothing was too much trouble. Thank you!”

“Word of advice to the management - First impressions count. On arrival i explained that had not booked and looking at table for 2 if possible. The lady at the fron desk (I believe to be the manageress) mumbled something ,no welcoming smile in fact I would say was quite put out she had to be there at all. Fortunatley the lady who served us and lady behind the bar had some customer service skills. The food was pleasant and reasonably priced. It was a very hot day the air conditioning inside was spot on.”

“We have just moved to the area so was visiting for the first time. The waitress was very good, nothing was too much trouble and everything done with a smile. We were very impressed with the food - my husband had a pie and I had the bacon chop. I can honestly say it was the best bacon chop I have ever had. My husband was surprised that I ate it all - I normally don't eat that amount of meat! We would have had a dessert but we were just too full. We will be visiting again!”
