About GRAIN - St Davids
GRAIN - St Davids is a pizza restaurant in Haverfordwest at 1 High St, run as a collaboration between Bluestone Brewing Company and The Canteen, Newport. The partnership pairs handmade pizza with a craft beer list, so the food and the drinks come from the same two names. Pizzas come out of the oven fresh, and the N'duja pizza is one for people who like heat. Dough balls arrive hot with homemade garlic butter, and Iberico pork scratchings sit alongside them as a snack. The drinks list leans on modern craft beers and hazy IPAs, with local ciders and beers as well. Gluten free and dairy free options are available. Dogs are welcome.

Customer Review Summary
Pizza is the main draw, with reviewers calling it the best they have had and describing bases that came out fresh, soft and doughy. The n'duja pizza is named more than once, and one reviewer warns it is hot enough to avoid before a busy next day. Others name the Ultracomida, a Hawaiian with good quality ingredients, and a mushroom pizza oozing with cheese and wild mushroom flavour, though that diner found it had double cheese. Close behind are the hot dough balls with homemade garlic butter, which one reviewer suggests getting for the table. Large spicy olives and Iberico pork scratchings also get mentions. Beer is the other regular praise, from a hazy IPA called Alfresco to local ciders and ciders alongside the pizza. Staff are described as friendly and service as great. Complaints are small: one diner found it colder than expected with no heaters, and another wished the butter and dough balls did not come in plastic. One regular books in advance to be sure of a table, and a return visit two years later found the quality unchanged.

“Thoroughly recommend this place, the beers and pizzas were out of this world. We had the Ultracomida and Ndu-ja pizzas which were both so tasty. Washed down with a lovely Hazy Ipa 'Alfresco'. Service was fantastic too”

“Nice informal atmosphere, friendly staff and great beer selection. Recommend getting the dough balls for the table, were delicious. ⚠️ If you've got things to do the following day, maybe swerve the "n'duja like it hot?" pizza...🌶”
