“Visited for a quiet drink with my wife and child. On approaching the bar I inadvertently stood on the wrong side of a pillar. When another customer pointed this out I was perfectly pleasant about it — no issue there. What followed, however, was less welcome: the same man (who I believe was the landlord) then stepped directly in front of me in the queue. When I calmly asked whether that was his intention, he responded aggressively. I then had to listen at the bar while he and his companions recounted the episode to each other, with a suggestion from one of them that this sort of thing only happens when people have been drinking. It was, in fact, my first drink of the day. The garden, where we took our drinks, was unfortunately rather tacky and did little to lift the mood. We left without finishing and won’t be returning.”

“Character filled British pub dating from 1891. Stopped in for a pint of the local ale and a cider. Served by a nice young gent. Loved the internal decor .. hearts up for Mother’s Day and bunnys and eggs ready for Easter.”

“Came here for lunch whilst doing a long walk with a friend. The pub is beautifully decorated inside. It was really clean and very well maintained. There was the Sunday menu on when we went. This was good but not if you're a vegetarian as there wasn't any meat/fish free options. We had scampi and chips which was delicious! Good portion sizes and very quickservice. .”
