Customer Review Summary
Reviewers most often single out the table service, with waitresses described as handling a large family lunch and a birthday dinner so that nothing was too much trouble and every order came out right. Overnight guests add that the rooms were clean, spacious and well equipped, the reception staff friendly, and the included breakfast large with plenty of options. On the food, diners name the Trio of Roasts and the Moules Frites with crispy squid, and several call the meals good value. The recurring complaint is availability. One reviewer found half the menu unavailable, and another could not order their first choices. One also describes the bar and restaurant staff as extremely overloaded and repeatedly apologising for waits. Guests staying over note no air conditioning and no lift, and a car park where spaces can be tight. One diner says they will return for the seafood platter or crab salad once those are back in stock.

“Had a lovely time at The Green Man in Harlow after it was recommended to us. The food was really good, although unfortunately a few things we originally wanted were unavailable. We eventually ordered the Trio of Roasts and Moules Frites with crispy squid, and everything was great. The service was good too and we really enjoyed our visit. There’s plenty of outdoor seating, which would be perfect in good weather, and a large car park at the rear. We’ll definitely be returning, especially to try the seafood platter or crab salad when they’re back in stock! A great pub that I’d happily recommend.”

“Amy our waitress tonight was excellent and looked after us brilliantly. Nothing was too much trouble and she catered for our every need. Food was very filling and well prepared at a very reasonable price. Will more than likely use this venue again”

“We use this venue to meet with family once a year to enjoy a meal together and stay over. Shout out to Janna on Reception (apologies if I spelt your name wrong) friendly and a genuine hoot upon checking in! The lovely Sophia who waited on us for Dinner and Breakfast, nothing was too much trouble. Big thanks to you all, for making our stay enjoyable!”

“No A/C and no lift. Bed was good, pillows not so much, but the pillows don't seem very good in most hotels for some reason. If it's hot, the A/C and small fan are issues, but if the weather is nice, they aren't. The windows do open more, you have to press the safety tabs on the sides to open them. Pub was good food and drinks, outdoor and indoor seating. The included breakfast is quite good and has options.”

“I was surprised by how good the hotel was. The room was incredibly spacious and clean. I had some preconceived notions of what this hotel would be and I was wrong, because I really enjoyed my stay. If I am every flying from Stansted again, I am looking to book here. Amazing place and value for money is good too. Receptionist was lovely as well.”
