Customer Review Summary
Portion size divides reviewers more than anything else. Supporters describe a set meal for two with easily enough food for a family of four, food that stays hot on the way home, and delivery drivers who are friendly and check the order is correct. Others call the portions tiny, citing a very small chow mein, a small hot and sour soup, and crispy chilli beef in a very sweet, gloopy sauce. Chips come up repeatedly as a weak point, described as part cooked or absolutely awful alongside the prawn toast. Lemon chicken was remade for one diner, while another found it strange tasting with hard, old rice. Beef in black bean was called flavourless, though the beef itself was cooked nicely. One reviewer reports plastic in their chips, and another says they feared food poisoning from the chicken. Several long-time customers say quality has slipped. One who ordered their usual extra mild dish received chilli and was told the kitchen would do nothing about it.

“Fantastic takeaway! The service was quick and efficient, the food was absolutely delicious, and everything was fresh and full of flavour. The staff were lovely, welcoming. A great experience from start to finish—we’ll definitely be ordering again.”

“Great Chinese takeaway – highly recommended! We’ve ordered from here a few times now and the food has always been excellent. The portions are generous, and it’s one of the few takeaways where I’ve actually finished my meal and still wanted more because it was so tasty. We did have an issue with a delivery on one occasion, but these things can happen and it certainly hasnt put me off ordering again. The quality of the food more than makes up for it. Definitely worth trying if you’re looking for a good Chinese takeaway. ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐”

“Ordered delivery 06/05/26 and was disappointed with portion size and quality. Not sure what sauce they used for the crispy chilli beef, but it was only half covered, very sweet and weirdly gloopy, like it was not cooked with the beef, then coagulated. The chow mein tasted good, but was probably the smallest portion of I've ever received from a takeaway. The hot and sour soup was incredibly spicy, which I didn't mind, but it wasn't really a typical hot and sour soup, and again, very small portion... The only good thing was they delivered to us, about 8 miles away, but they charged a fortune for delivery and it almost arrived too quickly... and we could tell by the quality it was clearly rushed.”

“Not good! Usually use Haddington Villa but they were closed so ordered from here, won't be back. Beef in Blackbean had no flavour at all, but beef itself was cooked nice, sweet and sour chicken ok, prawn toast and chips were absolutely awful..binned it, waste of £30+”
